Are you RaptureReady? Or why Jesus would not be a Democrat
http://www.raptureready.com/republican.html

"This party champions taking ever-increasing tax money from the pockets of those who work to give to those who won't work, even if they have opportunity. Thus there has been created a dependent welfare class that trillions of dollars of taxpayers' money since the implementation of "The Great Society's War on Poverty" --instituted by a Democratic president and a mostly Democratic Congress-- has not been able to improve. Catering to a welfare class -and that means people who refuse to make a genuine effort to work, even though they are healthy--violates a basic precept of God's Word, the Bible.

"For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat" (2 Thess. 3:10).

The Democratic Party continues to be led by those who believe pacifism is the easiest pathway to world peace. They constantly do all within their power to support legislative action designed to disarm the military of the US and the American public. Again, that woolly-minded leadership violates basic biblical precepts. Jesus spoke about being vigilant and prepared to defend one's home: "Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house" (Matt. 12:29). "

1. From The Link - The Millennials Strike Again - These People Are Scary
Human government never will be able to solve the world's problems. There never will be true peace until the Prince of Peace establishes His Millennial Kingdom. That understood, until the Lord Jesus comes for His Church in the rapture -- presuming both major political parties in America continue to hold to their present party lines -- it is the view of Rapture Ready that Republican values are America's best political option.

2. I see their out of context quotes and raise them three in accord with the
majority of bible teachings on the poor.

"Jesus answered, If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.'" Matthew 19:21

"Beware of the teachers of the law . . . They devour your widows' houses . . . Such men will be punished severely." Luke 20:46-47

"If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth." 1 John 3:17-18

8. Jesus also supported taxes
Matthew 22:17-21

17 So tell us what you think. Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not?”

18 But knowing that these leaders were trying to trick him, Jesus said, “You hypocrites! Why are you trying to trap me?

19 Show me a coin used for paying the tax.” So the men showed him a coin.

20 Then Jesus asked, “Whose image and name are on the coin?”

21 The men answered, “Caesar’s.” Then Jesus said to them, “Give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and give to God the things that are God’s.”

3. The original bible verse
Jesus and Beelzebub

22Then they brought him a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute, and Jesus healed him, so that he could both talk and see. 23All the people were astonished and said, "Could this be the Son of David?"
24But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, "It is only by Beelzebub,<4> the prince of demons, that this fellow drives out demons."
25Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand. 26If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand? 27And if I drive out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your people drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. 28But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.
29"Or again, how can anyone enter a strong man's house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can rob his house.
30"He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters. 31And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. 32Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
33"Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit. 34You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. 35The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. 36But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. 37For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned."

6. Interpretation - this is kind of zen thing
what is the sound of one hand clapping?

Satan is the strong man. If Jesus were Satan, he would have to weaken himself to throw himself out.

This says nothing about national security or defending yourself. The RaptureReady folks are saying that the US is Satan, and that we'd better protect ourselves from Jesus.

4. When the first nuke goes off...
and these freaks notice that they've been "left behind", there will be more than the proverbial wailing and gnashing of teeth going on.

What fools.

13. Your pictures
Hello,

I found your picture of the Iraqi man and the statement of war very moving; so very much so that I copied it and have used it as a signature on my personal email. I hope that is not a problem with you.

The man's emotions are so raw and available in the picture, I don't see how any human can view it and not understand that we are bombing people. Real people. Who cry and care and love and want a good life for themselves and their people. And we didn't have to start this war. It wasn't required. It wasn't necessary.

Thank you for allowing me to express my views.

15. I actually hope others will see what I see in those pictures/statements
Feel free to spread those images.

I wept like a baby when I first saw the picture of that man. As a father of young children, it just hit me like a ton of bricks when I saw the deep sorrow in his eyes. Only those who are in denial about the consequences of war could avoid looking into his eyes and feeling his pain. Even worse for me, knowing that the evil emotion of revenge is involved in the deaths of these people leaves me wondering where the soul of our nation has gone to...

7. heh he I like the sentence toward the end,
"you can be a perfectionist and find many things wrong with the Rotpublicans".

They got THAT right. Although in my case, I'd say 1,000,000 things wrong with the Ratpublicans.

10. Matt 25 - conveniently neglected
Edited on Mon Sep-27-04 10:09 PM by JPJones
4"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
37"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
40"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

12. Anyone can pick and choose biblical verses to "prove" their case
but if we look at the New Testament in its entirety, the message is clear. Live a humble, simple life. Tell the truth. Treat people with kindness and love even when you don't like them.

They really gotta stretch, lol. But that's what they do. Lie and deny.
