DU survey: Newspaper endorsements

I'm interested.. some wonder if Kerry's victory in Iowa was related to a number of newspaper endorsements, so this could be a (small) factor on November 2nd.

1) Which candidate do you think your local newspaper will endorse?

2) For the record, what city is that newspaper based in?

3) If you can recall, whom did they endorse in 2000?

1) I have no idea. I think they're leaning to Kerry.

2) The Austin-American Statesman is in Austin, TX.

3) They endorsed Bush in 2000.

3. The majority of newspapers...

by numbers and circulation ALWAYS endorses Republicans. This is of course because newspapers, being liberal, will always endorse the liberal candidate.
ok, no more sarcasm... except that everything stated above (except the liberal cracks) is true.

In the past century, the newspapers endorsed the Democrat only 3 times.

LBJ in 1964
FDR in 1932 (NOT in 1936, 1940, or 1944)
And whoever ran against Teddy in 1904.
