Did the Kerry girls really get booed at the VMAs?
I saw a clip on Carson Daly's show that was part of a joke ... and wonder if there was any truth to it. Can anyone fill me in?

1. What isn't shown
is that the Bush gals got booed too. The VMA people didn't appreciate the politics from either side invading their evening.

2. My understanding is the booers thought the Kerry ladies where to Bush girl
s. They finally realized it when the Bush girls came on the screen near the Kerry ladies. My daughter was watching and told me.

3. ah hah - interesting.
I don't think I realized how easy it is to mistake them for the other... I thought they were the Bush twins at first glance, too. Thank you both! :hi:

5. I saw it -- disgusting.
The Kerry girls came out first. They were not even allowed to talk -- the boos began immediately. The girls were not even advocating for Kerry, but were simply encouraging young people to vote. The Bush girls were not really booed. I replayed it several times and the Bush girls may've received a few boos, but nothing compared to the Kerry girls. Pathetic. Young people need to wake up and realize life is not all party and care free bliss anymore like the late '90s. There are young people their age dying overseas in Bush's war -- and they may be next. Time to wake up and smell the yellowcake.

ps. There were people who stood up and cheered loudly in defense of the Kerry girls.

6. Ah, I stand corrected
Geez. But it still could have been that they were mistaken for the Bush gals at first.

7. I believe they were mistaken for the Bush girls
Just the way the two sets of girls were introduced together, despite the Bush girls not appearing until later in the segment. Further, MTV clearly lowered the crowd mics in order for the Bush girls taped segment to be heard.

If you think my generation is voting for Bush, you're wrong. I have one hardcore Republican friend, and one insanely stupid friend who are going to vote for Bush (going to work on the stupid one, he's the type of guy you can get to change his mind about anything). The rest of the people in my inner circle (about 20 or so) are all voting for Kerry, and only a few of us would be described as politically active.

Don't think that the work being done by athletes, musicians, and actors isn't helping either. It's clearly much "cooler" to be a Democrat than a Republican.

8. Remember MTV is owned by Viacom, whose CEO
Sumner Redstone who, according to Mike Malloy, said it would be better FOR VIACOM, if Bush were re-elected.
