Hope that got your attention.

I just listened to a story on Morning Edition about contingency plans for disruptions or terrorist attacks on election day. Notice how we're being prepared for exactly that sort of thing. Vague threats, dire warnings, it all adds up.

I don't know what we can do, besides VOTE. Do it by advance ballot if you can in your state, take the day off work if possible to be a poll watcher or to help other voters make it to the polling place.

The scariest thing is that it would only take a few targeted shut-downs of polling places to insure that W is re-selected. One thing we learned for sure four years ago is that there's no "do over" in elections.

1. Vote absentee or vote early..
saw an article where 75% of the states allow early voting.

2. at what point will americans say enough is enough

all of this is so transparent.

I realize it is not transparent to the average american, but do they really think the people will stand for this, cancellation of elections? They pulled off the elections in NYC after Sept. 11

3. I'm surprised this didn't generate a few more responses.
The difference between this November, and Sept 11, 2001, is that the NYC primary was simply delayed. I think what could happen this time is an outright cancellation, or, worse yet, allowing the election to take place despite widespread disruption, closed polling places, citizens unable to get to the polls because of heightened alert status.

But just as the count in Florida was stopped, a partial vote will be deemed sufficient.

Voting in advance, which I intend to do, is a partial solution. We need exit polling. We need a good-faith effort on all side to ensure that this election is free, fair, and honest. I wonder why I don't think that will happen?
