Did anyone discuss Tweety, Kennedy and Dean
on Hardball last night? Tweety practically genuflected in front of Kennedy and Dean and gave Hatch a very, very short time to try and argue what Kennedy had to say. Tweety actually let Orrin Hatch hang himself with his own words.

Kennedy was given at least half the show time for the extended interview and he did not waste a moment. Tweety did ask him some of the lame questions but then allowed Kennedy to give full answers on the real issues. Novel idea for the Tweetymeister - a real discussion. Did the same thing with Dean. For one all too brief hour last night Democrats were allowed to explain Kerry's and the Democratic party's position. Of course, the jaded part of me think that there will be a lot of clip and dip editing and an ad for BushCo which will take everything out of context will be airing by Friday.

Hatch didn't fail expectations, either. He is a moron and he plays one of the best morons to ever get elected to political office (Shrub is # 1). Hatch could not even out argue Tweety - how dumb do you have to be to lose that argument? (Tweety: "So if America gets attacked between now and election day we should all vote for Bush because he will know how to get these guys." Hatch: "Yes.", and "And if we don't get attacked between now and election day we should vote for Bush because he has kept America safe." Hatch" "Yes." Tweety just shook his head and said something about "you guys have it covered don't you." Hatch: "Yes."

Overall - thought it was a pretty good hour of TV from Tweety Bird for a change. He must have crashed from his Zell Miller afterglow and realized he needed to do some real journalism if he was going to get that moment again.

1. Hatch did not even realize how he was exposing the stupidity - and
this guy wanted to get on the Supreme Court!

Oh - I forgot - Under GOP rules lack of ability does not preclude you from a job as long as you have the right family background and say the right wing's mantra of the day.

If you think about it, the above Hatch/GOP thought process reflects rather well where US Corporate management went after Reagan.

2. Does Hatch really want
Edited on Tue Sep-28-04 07:38 AM by Ky For Kerry
a Supreme Court appointment? Really? Just what that court needs - another Clarence Thomas. Dumb - dumb - dumb.

Surely even the repugs wouldn't want to seat this jerk off. I know their standards are low but they would have to reach up to scratch bottom with Hatch.

6. Did you guys just feel the chill? I swear the ghosts of
John Jay, John Marshall, Earl Warren, Warren Burger, Oliver Wendell Holmes, William O. Douglas, Abe, Fortas and Thurgood Marshall just rose up with all of the past justices from their graves in protest.

That Hatch could even think he would be SC material is indicative of just how low this country has sunk. There is not one single Justice on the Court right now that will ever be remember with awe or respect for the positions and cases they have ruled on for the last 25 years. The Supreme Court is no longer apolitical and therefore have lost any credibility.

But Hatch? Jeez. If that is not one good reason to make sure that BushCo is gone in 35 days nothing is. I do not want to even begin to imagine what damage from packing the Court Rove and Cheney could do with four more years.

I wish the Supreme Court would become a serious issue for this campaign - appointments to the Federal bench has immediate, far-reaching and long ranging consequences for each and every American.

3. Oh, I guess Matthews is "playing left" this week
The problem with whores like Matthews is they suddenly switch back to "playing right" when you least expect or need it. His schtick is extremely tiresome, but he is a very insightful and tough political analyst who asks the questions other interviewers are afraid to ask. He's not afraid to piss people off on the left, right or center. That's the only reason why in spite of all his whoreish flaws I continue to watch him.

5. I thought it was a decent show last night, as well
He really respects the Kennedy's and always has had good things to hear about Teddy to my knowledge. I'm sure that had something to do with his tone during his conversation with him. That, and he knows old Teddy won't take any shit.
