Kerry should be Kerry at the debates
Edited on Tue Sep-28-04 11:03 AM by nostalgicaboutmyfutr
Edited the title.

My feeling is that Kerry should not pander to the voters too much at the debates...he should be strong and forceful against the president and really use the retorical questions to pose to Bush 'what do you really know? what are you going to do?'

Like the John Kerry (NYC) we heard in the speech from last Monday and Friday (Phil)

for a couple of reasons:

- this will show that Kerry is a fighter and worthy to defend the USA as CoC

- it will put Bush on the defensive and he doesn't like that or can defend that well

- It will show many people the best part of Kerry as many people have an impression that he is waffly/weak or more intellectual/quiet...show the public he is a 'prosecuting attorney' and they will begin to question all the BS that the Bush campaign has spewed

- The american public still loves a politician that can say "Sir, you are a liar and a fraud" here is why...here is what i will do better

- the people want to see that Kerry can be as strong or stronger than Bush when the fan gets dirty...wipe that stupid smirk off of his face!

American want to see that Kerry can stand up to the 'bully' (Bush) and will make the inferance that he can stand up to the other 'Bullies' (terrorists, etc.)

- the american people are confused about what Bush tells them and the reality of the news (the little we get) and will welcome the questioning of the president that we, the people can normally do (but can't because a controlled bush message is just sound bites, and BS)...the people will see "hey, kerry is like me, we want to really know what is going on...Buhsh has never answered these questions"

Americans see that Iraq is a quagmire...and if Kerry 'sides' them and forces the questions to bush then they will empathize that Kerry doubts the president's BS like I do...

- Kerry needs to make the 'make no mistake, we will crush al queada and any terrorists that threaten America....BEFORE THEY GET TO THE US'...a sutble dig to Bush that 9/11 did happen on his watch because of his inaction...and possible complicity

- There is no quarantee that Bush will show up for the 2nd and 3rd debates....got to hit him hard and get some REAL answers out of Bush...and we all know that Bush doesn't have any real answers...

- if bush does poorly there will be no 2/3 debate...if bush does well...then why does he need another debate?

That's off my chest now...thanks for listening

1. I agree about Bush ducking out of one or both of the remaining debates.
BTW, your thread title reads Kerry should be Kerry at the "polls". Maybe you meant to write "debates".
