One last time: What about the GD EAR PIECE!?!

We discussed the possibility of the Chimp using his ear piece for these debates.

What is happening with that critical issue?

We have got to make sure the public is on the look out for the slightest sign of one.

We also need to make sure that the Rethugs know that we will call them on it. Did Vernon Jordan put that in the agreement and if not what is being done to level this playing field?

How can we make sure the words gets out, the clock is ticking.

1. Is the 32 page agreement online somewhere?
I've seen talking head hosts waving it around on the air, but have also heard that it's 'secret' and am now confused. Are they using a prop agreement?

There will be no teleprompters nor notes, so the Shrub will be without lifelines UNLESS he has his trusty earpiece. The tip off is when his sentences get really, really short and extra herky jerky.

He needs to be frisked!

(don't stick your fingers in too far - they'd meet someplace in that empty space in the center of his head)

3. I am fearful that this will be lost in the Media Love Fest

We have got to get our spin on it before the debates.

I read someplace that the 1st debate is the most critical. If so, it will be too late if they let him have the ear piece on Thursday.

Thanks for responding to my concern.

Edited on Wed Sep-29-04 10:35 AM by pse517
Hey, while you're at it Mr. President how about singing "Blame it on the Rain", "Girl You Know it's True," and "Don't Forget My Number?"

Then we could hear the press gush about how surprisingly well he mouthed the words. They could have Fab or Rob or whichever one of those Milli Vanilli guys is still alive on NBC to give an assessment of how well the President did.

UGH!

7. If he is on live video, he will have an earpiece (AFB)
People on camera have to have this so they can hear the director tell them when to talk, when the break happens, which camera is live, etc. Can it be used to cheat? Possibly. But other people might hear.

Kerry will have an earpiece too.

6. It's Not In The Agreement...
Edited on Tue Sep-28-04 12:02 PM by GR
http://www.pbs.org/now/politics/2004MemorandumUnderstanding.pdf

The CIA probably has earpieces so small they will fit inside the ear in a completely invisable way...I think your suspicion is highly relevant.

Debators can't have notes or un-evaluated pens but nothing in agreement about earpieces. They allow phone line to director from campaign spokesperson though. Could Bush's person complain and they would then relay to Lehrer who would change his question or followup? I think so...

28. Wouldn't this apply? No "tangible things"
(c) No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings
or other tangible things may be brought into the
debate by any candidate. Neither candidate may
reference or cite any specific individual sitting in a
debate audience at any time during a debate. If a
candidate references or cites any specific
individual(s) in a debate audience, or if a candidate
uses a prop, note, or other writing or other tangible
thing during a debate, the moderator must interrupt
and explain that reference or citation to the specific
individual(s) or the use of the prop, note, or other
writing or thing violates the debate rules agreed to
by that candidate.

12. Three things Kerry campaign should bring Thursday
Scanners, recording devices, scramblers.

Scanners to pick up broadcast signals; recorders to record any evidence of Chimp being fed answers.

And/or, scramblers to interfere with any such signal.

It may seem tinfoilish, but if you agree, send the idea to the Kerry campaign -- http://www.johnkerry.com/contact/contact.php

And keep it under the radar, so to speak, because the best thing possible would be to catch BushCo trying something like that -- better even than preventing it.

Edited on Tue Sep-28-04 12:57 PM by goclark

I can't be sure that they( Kerry Campaign) are doing anything about it.

I have seen nothing in the news to indicate that it may be a possibilty for Chimp's ear piece to be a reality.

This is critical to the success of the debates.

I'm sure they have trained their puppet to do a lot better so no one will notice the ear piece responses.

You can bet, since they have not heard an outcry from the crowd ,that they are bold enough to use it.

They will stop at nothing!

On blogspot.com

snip >TIMID TIM TRIES TO GROW A SPINE

snip>Two wild theories: 1) When Dubya pauses, looks down and shakes his head from side to side, it's a tell. It's a lie - and probably a non-verbal request to receive a prompt though his earpiece. 2) Rove wanted Bush to answer to only a few issues, war justification and AWOL in particular, so the subject matter was narrowed by agreement with Meet the Press.

I've always questioned Bush wearing an earpiece But, if the CIA is ticked off with him, maybe they will put in a weak battery.

But, with what is it 30 seconds to answer a question,? by the time the voice at the other end connects to the pea brain, we may not need to worry. It would be great to have someone scrabble his messages though or fast speed the messages!

These debates are a farce. And pea brain needs to practice for a 30 second answer?

42. Hot Off The Press Evidence!

Someone just told me that they heard the
ear piece gaffe on June 5 at the pre D-Day press conference
in France wherein our boy king suffered an audio malfunction
and the little voice feeding him his lines was heard over the
airwaves.

Not many of us saw it, but it did happen they tell me.

This is a serious issue. The shrub has, through practice,
gotten quite good at using the ear piece
prompt.

Someone somewhere has this on tape.
The reporters present would not have heard
it and not sure if the control room was even aware that it was
happening. If that had been the case, it would have been
cut off quickly and it wasn't. The audio lasted at least 5
minutes and you could clearly hear the 'voice' telling Shrub
which reporter to point to in the q and a.

If anyone has any additional information please let us know.
The clock is ticking until the debate.

I am glad you brought this up again.

I hope our guys are on top of this, too.

I just couldn't bear for the pros to be so stupid as to not address and successfully head off this issue.

I don't doubt for a nanosecond that the repukes would try something like this or in the same vane = like getting the questions in advance or getting to control the questions in the first place.

My hope is that someone in the audience brings along a jamming or listening device - so strong as to create a commotion that would clearly bring this out in the open for everyone to see.

I pray and I hope.
