Heard on radio news this AM: Bush preparing his 'zingers' for the debate
No lie. Didn't give any examples, however.

That's his prep - pummell JK to death with vacuous, no-content Reaganesque "There you go again", "fuzzy math" and "Where's the beef?" sound bites.

Articulate policy statements will sound all egg-heady and wonkish.

Bank it - Bush will be his smart ass, petulant self and that will score points with the 'have a beer with him' talking heads on the cable 'news' networks.

2. Kerry needs only one zinger.
"Everything the President tells you tonight is going to be dishonest, distorted, or flatly untrue."

7. Yes he does.
Like "at least I can read at above a 3rd grade level."
Or "at least my mother doesn't look like the Quaker Oats guy."
Or "so how many times have you been arrested for dui?"
Or "at least I can ride my bike without falling off it."
Or "care for a pretzel?"

6. Kerry should keep firing back: "So, you think one-liners and
tax cuts will solve everything?"

8. Just quote Bush.
Don't say he's stupid. Just quote him.

"Japan has been our ally for one hundred and fifty years." (How's that for being a great follower of our military?)

"Sovereignty is just that. It means you have sovereignty."

Or some quotes from the Goat Book he kept reading while NYC was in flames. (Obviously he was too caught up in the story to be distracted!)

Or how he ran Air Force One away from the 9/11 disaster fearing for his own life.

Or if he says he maybe can find WMDs in his office if he searches long enough, Kerry should say he would like to give the order to strike!

Or how he said he got out of the Guard 8 months early to go to Harvard Business school. Viet-Nam wasn't so profitable? Do other guard members have this option as well?

9. Zingers, or one-liners = cheerleading.
Edited on Tue Sep-28-04 12:13 PM by DesertDem
That's the only thing junior does well. Kerry should connect the dots and tag chimpy as a cheerleader if chimpy tries to zing him with one-liners.

edited for spelling. :dunce:

10. Kerry just needs to quote Bush* from the 2000 debates
and then ask "Was he telling the Truth?" Bush* said he opposed Nation building... does he really? Bush* said he would set aside a certain amount of the surplus in a special account for in case (we know it could never happen under Republicans) The economy takes a turn for the worse. How much is in that fund to date?
Bush* would protect Social Security with his own Lock box. Has he done this? Tax cuts would create countless jobs.... Really???? Use Bush*'s own words against him and let his zingers fly...
