"Bush Ad: Kerry Has Put U.S. 'At Risk'"

WACO, Texas (AP) - President Bush, preparing for a debate on foreign policy with his Democratic rival, accuses "John Kerry and Congressional liberals" of "putting our protection at risk" in a campaign ad released Tuesday, his second commercial on the issue in two days.

"Strength builds peace. Weakness invites those who do us harm," the ad says, a suggestion that Kerry would be a weak leader in wartime and a country headed by him would be vulnerable to terrorist attacks.

The ad accuses Kerry of "refusing to support our troops in combat" and trying to severely slash intelligence budgets and eliminate military weapons after the first attack on the World Trade Center.

Bush and Kerry debate foreign policy at the University of Miami on Thursday night, the first of three scheduled debates. Both candidates were spending Tuesday preparing for the meeting.

3. That's rich
Bush turned down an offer from Syria to clamp down on Hezbollah and Hamas and receive detailed intelligence on Al Qaeda's european network because the Likudnik neocons want to keep Syria on their "to be invaded" list.

4. Not that I doubt you
but do you happen to have a link?

Along the same lines, I watched the foreign minister of Iran on Charlie Rose practically begging the US to let them help in Iraq. We sure couldn't use that, could we?

5. "A suggestion that Kerry would be weak?" A suggestion?!
That is a typical smear by BushCo -- their statement presupposes that Chimp is "strong" and Kerry is "weak."
Grrrr

7. Bush policies have incubated terrorism and made it worse
Edited on Tue Sep-28-04 12:39 PM by gasperc
Attacks have increased dramatically since the invasion 1 and 1/2 years ago.

We were PROMISED Iraq's WMD stock would be secured. None has been found, not the weapons, factories, or evidence thereof.

We were PROMISED troops strength would be drawn down by the end of 2003. Troops levels have increased beyond the invasion force.

We were PROMISED that the insurgents attacking US forces in the summer of 2003 were DEADENDERS, AND THE LAST REMENENTS OF A DEAD REGIME. The insuregents have grown conservatively 5 fold as well as their sophistication.

We were PROMISED that the war with Iraq would be 100% paid for be Iraqii oil revenues. The oil pipeline is under constant attack, over $200 Billion has been spent THAT WE KNOW OF!

We were PROMISED that war with Iraq would make us SAFER. There have been dozens of terror alerts and warnings, over 1000 dead American soliers, over 7000 wounded and Americans are as terrified as ever that a terror attack can and will occur any day now.

If the Yankees replace their pitcher with Bozo the clown, should Yankee fans remain quiet for fear of encouraging the opposing team???

9. But according to factcheck.org
That's exactly when Kerry started voting consistently in favor of military spending. It was a combination of all the investigating he'd done into Iran/Contra and BCCI, and the first attack on the WTC and the attack in Oklahoma City, that has made him the hawk he currently is.

He knew the dangers and was sounding the alarm already in 1997. On November 9, 1997 (thanks Rush) he was already saying we had to get tough with Saddam. He was incredibly aware of global crime and terrorism as a whole, from Afghanistan to China. In May of 2001, he was on the Senate floor again, preaching that terrorism was a grave threat that needed to be dealt with, while the Bush admin played with missile defense.

I wish with all my heart that Kerry had been in the White House when 9/11 happened. This is his field. He's been studying it for a long, long time. It's Bush that doesn't know what he's doing, not Kerry.

DAMN IT! DAMN IT! DAMN IT! Fuck the media! Fuck this administration! May there be a special place in hell for everyone who put greed and power over the well-being of this country, and had the unmitigated gall to wrap themselves in the flag while they did it.

Beer and no sleep do not mix. I guess I better go to bed now before I punch something. Good night all.
