Is God on Kerry's side?
Just a thought. I'd like to hear what folks here think about this:

Four Hurricanes hit Florida, with massive flooding in the Southeast due to record rains. And now I hear that FEMA is hard put to take care of folks. In the panhandle of Florida, once solidly Repug, anecdotal evidence of voters deciding to vote for Kerry because of the difficulty of getting Federal Assistance. Same for parts of Georgia, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, etc.

Now we all know what happened 4 years ago in Fla. Could the Almighty He/She/It be a might pissed off at ol'Georgie? Could it be that SomeOne wants to throw His/Her/Its weight around this election?

Neither my wife or I are particularly what you might call spiritual, but watching the news about Jeannie this weekend, we couldn't help but wonder.

Comments?

9. When dealing with the God Fearing Folks of the Red States
It's good to have them actually fearing God or at least mess with their minds a little. Also there was small earthquake in Cali in the last hours and two volcanoes show signs of erupting in the U.S. With 9-11, wars, hurricanes and the like when are these spiritual people going to get the message?

10. No, but destruction can have a way of changing minds
especially if promises of aid for your plight are not met. Politics is first and foremost about local issues, how "well" you are doing, etc. If folks are living in tents and shelters for longer than they think they should be.......well, I've know folks to "vote for the other guy" just to send a message for less reason than that.

Hurricanes are a fact of nature, and its sad to see the result of one, let alone four. But the situation for the folks living there is reality and reality affect politics.

3. Jerry, is that you?
People _joke_ about the hurricanes being a "message". Once you start taking it seriously... Well, what can I say? Falwell.

7. I'm just sayin'
4 hurricanes hit Florida in one season. No state has been hit 4 times since the mid 1880s and it was Texas. Texas = Bush. Florida = Bush. Stop voting for Republicans and Mother Nature will stop punishing you.

Just kiddin' around. I really feel sorry for Florida and Alabama (Ivan). The Dakotas must be looking good to those folks right about now.

11. I just talked with God. (He's on our side)
And he said that anyone running for president from Mass named after one of his apostles (e.g.,John) will win.

He cited John Adams, John Q Adams and JFK.

God is a super listener!

14. If you buy into the notion that God micromanages things.....
which is probably the most insane way of looking at religion....

Then perhaps you'd ascribe to the notion that God is in fact a republican....how enjoys manipulating people so prone to manipulation, who believe in such manipulation, and gets his jollies by taking control of people that can't think for themeselves.

BTW....this is EXACTLY the OPPOSITE of what Christ taught.
