Does anyone else feel the anti Kerry faction in the media is really
racheting up their hateful rhetoric lately? Has the nastiness and contempt increased or am I imagining it?

3. Jon Stewart. To me, he is the only media these days.
Sad and happy all at the same time about it.

8. Stewart and the good people at Free Speech TV (which should be
provided to every television owner in the country!)
Link is pretty good too, but all the 'mainstream' 'Murkin media is hopelessly whored-out to the RePiglicans.

I mean kerry could be on the campaign trail and * at the ranch on vacation for the 800th time, they will cover kerry but then they feel the need to get a response from *. What a load of crap. And besides, they dont cover half the bs pulled by dumbya and crashcart. liberal bias, my ass.

10. And Kerry did NOT change his mind; that too is a LIE promoted by the
media whores! His position has been clear and consistent from day one; the media has simply "reported" how the RePugnicans WANT Kerry's statements to be characterized! There is NO truth to that!

The simian imbecile in the WH is the real flip-flopper.

6. And they are using the polls to do it. Now you know why the polls were
skewed to get that result. It gives the media a thin cover for their antiKerry slant.

7. This is what I think...
I think this race is getting ready to open up in Kerry's behalf and the networks and media know it and want to keep it as close as possible for more revenue.

As soon as Kerry does the stellar job that we know he is going to do on Thursday night, all of those so called security mom's are going to fall in line. All those who have "wondered" about Kerry are going to decide in his favor.

Look what gifts we have just been handed - there are not enough translators to translate intel - but there is enough money to pay Americans 80-100K to drive trucks in Iraq;

There is an 800 member reserve unit being sent to Iraq without rifles;

The CIA just leaked they did two reports stating that what is going on in Iraq right now, is what they predicted before the war on Iraq.

Kerry is going to get these messages out there and they are going to show that Bush and Cheney have not done much at all to protect us.....

21. don't forget
Going Upriver is a pro-Kerry movie coming out right after the first debate. If he does what we think he will in the debates then this movie is going to be the icing on the cake.

9. Yes indeed it has....sometimes taking a positive on this, Kerry
is doing far better than they are letting us know. I see no reason for these attacts on Kerry if bush was doing so good...hence I think the polls too have be skewed to make Dems not vote because what is the use...and if it too close, makes it much easier to steal.

11. Seems that way to me
The bloviators sit around and pontificate on deep discussions like: Kerry just hasn't told the people who he is and what his platform is.

Well, cripes!!! Isn't that part of the media's job? They blackout Kerry and then sit around and puzzle why "the people" don't know about him.

Same with the polls. They use bogus polls and then crow about how Georgie is sooo far ahead and ask what Kerry has to do to catch up.... which brings us back to point #1.

I HATE the corporate media.

12. No. You are not imagining it.
Today Judy, the asp, Woodruff asked Nancy Pelosi's daughter who has made a documentary on Kerry, "Do you think bush is in for a fight?"

It nearly knocked the Pelosi girl out of her seat as she responded,
"well, isn't he?" -- For some reason Judy, the asp, Woodruff was A) discounting Kerry and B) taking for granted that bush boy is IN.

Now, does that not make you want to ask what does she know that the rest of us do not? It is just like when Mary Matalin kept saying on election night 2000, when CNN was declaring Gore the winner, Matalin kept saying, "this is wrong, you keep watching, you"ll see how this is going to change"--what did Mary Matalin know about the bush brothers' steal in Florida that the rest of us did not?

And then tonight Chris Matthews was just insulting in the way that he diminished Kerry and made fun of him... although there is one thing that he was saying that was true and that is that Kerry allowed himself to be straight jacketed for this COMEDY OF ERRORS that will take place between him and the bush on three different occasions beginning this Thursday at the University of Miami in Coral Gables.

Sadder even, is the fact that the AMERICAN PEOPLE may fall for this charade as if it were a real debate while the coward in the bubble will one more time peddle his lies, push through his manipulation and think he beat kerry's derrier.

I think my mother, who was a very fair but truth honoring woman must be turning in her grave.

13. I agree, esp. the broadcast media. Print media is now falling in line,
i.e., Newsweek, Time, newspapers. Twisted headlines- one example: "Steelworkers Lining Up with Bush". Reading the text, it turns out to be only a small splinter group (20 out of 500). Bush visits a town 45 miles away and the local paper has a big headline about Bush*'s visit there. Edwards has smashing rally and it's on page 5.

15. Something weird I've noticed...
Is that there are those who suck the Bush teet, and they'll never get better. Hell with them...

But the rest, who do fall in line behind Bush most of the time, seem to be doing so with growing exasperation. I really think that they feel a great pressure to parrot the prescribed political points.

Does anyone think Bush is above terrorizing the press?

16. They're jumping on the Bush bandwagon because he is ahead in the polls
Granted, they are inaccurate polls. But that's what they are going by.

You see this in sports too. Whichever team is winning, the sportscasters will start talking more about them and talking them up.

18. Yes and here's why I'm so pissed..rant
Yes, dumb ass me watched the end of Hardlies. (at least I watched the first half of Ellen De Generes, so I don't have to slit my wrists)

The POLLS show that Kerry is behind. Many of us on DU suspect with good reason that those POLLS are weighted against Dems.

So, therefore, Kerry is a loser. The truly liberal media, (a la Tweetyfuck and Maher) are upset that a magic hero candidate hasn't been able to trounce Bush. They don't understand it. It's all Kerry's fault. His campaign's fault. Bullshit over bullshit. I've watched Kerry, I've seen what Kerry actually says, and they don't show that or give it a listen. Instead it's three weeks of debating whether he deserved his purple heart and if he had Christmas in Cambodia.

THE MEDIA doesn't discuss the many failures of Bush. They pick apart any failing of Kerry and then wonder why Kerry isn't discussing Bush.

HE is. They aren't.

When a perception is given, it sticks. That's the perception, Kerry is a loser because of the POLLS. Boy, it sure would make sense to rig some poll numbers now wouldn't it?

Bye bye Democracy, and Dan Rather-evil man that dared to question our Emperor whose main points were never refuted- the substance WAS TRUE.

Canada, I'm too fucking good for this country.

IT's all propaganda. Propaganda. Repeat after me. Propaganda. I saw a brilliant piece of an Ad by Bush that used Kerry's words in one or two bits. Propaganda to the finest. Goodbye America, it was nice knowing you.

And the liberal media like Matthews and Maher are let's call it for what it fucking is, too stupid to get it. They don't get this country is being propagnadized to the hilt. But why would they care? Those that have money don't seem to get that this country won't be Nazi Germany but someplace like Argentina. The middle class is going goodbye.. Fuck you Matthews and Maher for being so fucking dumb.

Rant over.

24. It's a vicious, despicable cycle
Dubious polls show Kerry behind, Punditocracy bemoans 'downfall of Kerry', more dubious polls show Kerry further behind...

The media hates Kerry. They did the same thing to him in the primaries. He still won.

How is this able to happen in America? I was once brainwashed in to thinking that the media was oh so liberal. Now I know that John Kerry is fighting so much more than * and Karl Rove. We've got to come out on 11/2/04 and help win back what is right and good about the USA!

26. It's extremely tiring to witness.
Kerry can do nothing right and Bush can do no wrong with these people. They've created this alternate reality where Bush is a hero and Kerry is a villian. And people are buying it. Something is very fundamentally wrong with our country.
