Fox News Is In Charge of ALL of the Cameras at Thursday's Debate? WTF?
Edited on Tue Sep-28-04 08:29 PM by David Zephyr
How did we miss this? How could this possibly have happened?

If so, we have been had, folks:

From an AP story on Yahoo:

"As part of a pool for all the networks, Fox News Channel is operating the cameras at Thursday's debate, scheduled for the University of Miami campus.

"'We're providing all the networks' coverage and we're not going to follow directions from outside sources,' said Paul Schur, Fox News Channel spokesman.

"Fox is expected to provide each network with feeds from several different cameras, giving them each discretion on which shots to air."

Subtle warm orange filter for W, pale green for Kerry.

8. Bingo. That's Why I Posted This. Who Let This Happen?

Was this part of O'Reilly's buttering up Kerry all of last week? I said then here at the DU that Fox was laying a trap, but I never knew it would be this bad.

I will not sugarcoat this, folks. This is a torpedo to our campaign. Fox has a veto trump on all televised images of the debate.

Who in the Kerry campaign allowed this? What were they privately promised to so betray the Kerry campaign.

Speechless here tonight here in my hotel in Chicago.

Great, wanna bet Fox's camera angles show Bush looking like a normal human being while Kerry looks like Herman Munster.

Damn, I hope Kerry has some surprise in for Bush.

wonder if they will have their own feed or the choice to choose the shots (the article implies that the Faux camera will show debate from many angles, the worst of course} and the networks can choose which feed.

Ugh..I might skip it all together and just hope DU has a thread if I find I can't stand the suspense.

I just can't watch it on the tube, and now that I know Faux is handling the camera angles I'm more convinced I need to pass it up.

Thanks for the "heads up" on this David.

12. I Barely Saw This Buried In The Story.
It's unbelievable. Simply unbelievable.

Fox holds all cameras and choice of angles. Does Fox accidentally lose unflattering camera shots of Bush while gleefully passing on those with Kerry in bad lighting, sweating, etc.

Kerry is walking into an Fox/Ailes ambush in Florida.

11. This is really nothing new...
On events like this, 1 network is chosen to do the feed for all the others.

FOX will cover the first debate only. Then each debate will have a different network covering it.

I would have preferred C-Span to do all the feeds...they are the only neutral network.
