Our small town, ultraconservative, nice but mostly intellectual challenged
folks, now have a Democratic Head Quarters. We will open officially on Friday but yesterday while doing some cleaning and prepping we had several people stop by just because they were so gosh darn excited to see a Dem presence in town. We registered one voter and had one woman who was so excited to see that there were actually Dems here that she volunteered to help us. BTW, in case you don't know me and where I am, I am in Texas about 60 miles from the creep that pretends to be a Texan and an elected president but who is actually a spawn of the Devil. Don't count out those Dem Texans, we are here to stay.

Bush's Hometown Newspaper Endorses Kerry
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=615&u=/nm/20040928/pl_nm/campaign_endorsement_dc_1&printer=1

CRAWFORD, Texas (Reuters) - The newspaper in President Bush (news - web sites)'s adopted hometown of Crawford threw its support on Tuesday behind Bush's Democratic rival, Sen. John Kerry (news - web sites).

In fact, I'd try to get a copy of the editorial and let everyone read it on the window.

4. Thanks and I will do that but the people who will stop by will be hard
core and need little or no persuasion. It is pretty socially unacceptable to be a Dem here.

2. My friend...
just recently moved to Texas (Dallas area). He's been really depressed because of the lack of Democrats at his work and in his neighborhood. I told him I'm sure there are some there, they're probably just not as vocal as the Bush supporters.

17. I am convinced a lot of people are intimidated and just keep their mouths
closed. I did for a while after the last election.

One had to assume that everyone were Republicans and why piss off your customers and colleagues.

This year, I am rather outspoken and find a great deal of agreement everywhere I go.

In Dallas, the chill would be much worse than in Austin, but I'm guessing it's not as one-sided as it appears.

10. The first meeting I went to in this town had 5 people. We are strong and
steady and will not give up. Somewhere and someplace there are many people that feel and think the same way we do and when we give them a place to come, they will.
