I don't envy "my guy" Mr. Kerry
All the expectations, negatives, things he has to memorize, nuances he has to express in a very short time, advise he has heard and been given-it makes my head spin; what can Mr. Kerry be thinking! I know you have to be focused, but can this be any fun at all for him and his family?

1. I have faith
in Kerry. He is so much smarter than the media gives him credit. Want to paint him as stiff and out of touch. He'll show them. Heck, he commanded a swift boat. I think he can handle a debate with the shrubster.

3. Whew, you had me worried!
I have faith that Kerry will do very well in any debate. I don't have faith that the media will tell the truth about it.

I don't envy Kerry because after he wins the election, he will inherit a country in the worst shape it's been in since the Great Depression. Our foreign position is in shambles, our federal budget is a wreck, and the economy is weak. Yuk, who'd want to get that mess?????

7. True
His administration will have its work cut out for it.

Reminds me of a Conservative for Kerry talking point. Get Bush out, and don't worry about Kerry wrecking Liberal mischief. He will be too busy cleaning up Operation Fubar.

all our founding fathers standing there right with him. They know whats at stake, he knows, and we know. He won't be alone.

6. Kerry has a lot of..
self-confidence, and is usually best under pressure.

It's true the media has put a heavy burden on him, even as we've managed to lower expectations a bit. On the other hand, the Bush campaign has been demonizing Kerry for so long now that if Kerry can simply come accross as a halfway decent guy, he will win people over.

8. Letterman Kerry would be good.
Or the Incredible Hulk Kerry (Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry.) I'll take either.

9. The real albatross around Kerry's neck is
his penchant for nuance. If he gets a bit longwinded it is not going to help him in anyway. Short and concise. That needs to be drilled into his brain. Short, concise and forceful.

11. Please don't assume he needs anyone to drum something into his
head. That is *'s problem.

12. Nuance in a debate with...
an opponent whose answers appear clear is not a winning strategy. Don't fall into the trap of thinking Kerry is flawless. Just because we ignore them to keep a rosy picture in our minds, does not mean the Bushies will.

There will many traps laid out there for Kerry during the debates. The Republicans, the media even the fence sitters are just waiting for a nuanced answer to a simple question. "Aha!" I can here them now. "Flip Flopper!" That trap is out there. Kerry KNOWS it is out there. It is up to him to avoid it.
