1. I volunteered for my local Dem party and
became a precinct captain. I'm handling the whole precinct myself! I'm almost done with my first round of walking registering, absentee apps, yardsigns, and lit drop. Next it's phone banking. Last, I'm whittling down to the undecideds and non-voters with another walk and lit drop and then taking some to the polls on election day! That's my plan!B-)

3. Yes
the volunteer coordinator for my area is really nice. He is allowing me to do phone banking from home. We are calling people from the swing precincts to identify Kerry supporters and undecideds. The leader said they will later call those Kerry supporters and make sure they make it to the poll. Then they will call those that are undecided to convince them to vote for Kerry.

4. I did once in Chicago,, very bad experience.
College students only it seemed. They were all very clickish and very unfriendly. I was pumped and they looked at me as if I was strange to be so passionate. It was as if everyone there was competing to be the big dog or the best Democrat. Very weird.
I'm 34 years old and just did not feel comfortable in the room.

5. Yep
I was going back and forth between Waukesha and Milwaukee, but lately I've been just going to Milwaukee.

I started out by getting supplies for HQ, then moved on to phone banking, volunteer calling, data entering, bumpersticker counting and letter-writing. I also print out articles I think they can use and bring them down to HQ. The volunteer coordinator said they could be used for talking points. I try to match the articles to the issue of the day. Lately that has been Iraq.

They especially like the Republicans for Kerry flyers I bring them.

For two months now, every time I get paid, I take $50 and find out what's needed down at HQ. I can't really afford it, but I figure it's only til November. I need to feel like I'm doing something to make this happen or I will just go stark raving mad.
