Will you have to have a shot of whiskey before the "debate"?
Edited on Tue Sep-28-04 10:44 PM by Lex
.
Hey, I'm not much of a drinker, but I'm thinking that I'm so keyed up about this "debate" that I'll have to have a slug of whiskey to get me through this thing.

Is that so wrong?

Your thoughts on your own condition or choice of spirits?

3. I have a routine for the debates.
I have a shot beforehand. Seriously.

The 2000 debates were nerve-wracking. I didn't sit for the entire debate - I paced around the TV. And even though I didn't need to pee, I still had that "nervous bladder" sensation running through me..

The debates make me that nervous.

I'll probably do two shots this time - one for the debate, and one dedicated to John Paul Stevens for hanging-on for another four years.

i'm thinking 2 or 3 glasses of wine, maybe just swill vodka with ice & a little lemon.

no weed, that would make me smash the TV.

5. You know who is winning the debate? The media.
They're convincing everyone that they're an authority on this matter. They're actually marketing Bush for the public. They're saying, "hey, he's dumber than you are. No, he's not really. He's just pretending to be dumber. Well, okay, yes, he is THAT dumb, but either way, in the end, you REALLY don't want a president smarter than you are, do you?"

6. Funny true story.....no kidding...
Back in 2000 I was so worried about Gore losing the election, that the night before the election I got hammered. So the next day I woke up with a powerful hangover and bought the Chicago Tribune. They had this neat chart that showed, "If Gore wins this state, that state and this state, he's a winnner"...."If GWB wins this state, that state and this state, he'll be the winner"....

So I'm sitting at home and watching the returns....things start going Gore's way...I'm getting excited and say, "I need to have a drink to celebrate; screw the hangover" and I started sipping Jack Daniels....Gore picks up a couple of other states and I'm waiting for Florida.....Gore gets Florida and man, I'm celebrating......feeling great.

Then they take it back! I ended up going down in depression..wake up and see where Gore is about to give his concession; then he takes it back....I'm a mess. End up going back down again.

I wake up the next morning with this huge fucking pain in my neck - I swear. That prick Bush gave me a pinched nerve in my neck because I passed out in an odd position. It took me months to get ride of the pain and numbness. I had to hang a damn brace from the bathroom door to stretch my neck - all because of the prick BUSH!!

The only good thing that came from it was I got to try Vicodin....

To this day, if I sit in an odd position, the tip to my right index finger will go numb - courtesy of that prick Bush.....

10. I can get through the debate sober... it's the after-debate b.s.
I may need to get drunk for.

It's already started. Chris Matthews and Bill Maher were having a jolly time tonight tearing Kerry apart on all of the really substantive issues --like his tan, his height and his elocution.

Meanwhile back at the 'ranch' the idiot (p)resident, who can barely form a coherent sentence, is their ideal candidate. Too bad about that messy war.

13. so disappointed
in Bill Maher tonight on HB. I expect that stupidity from the tweetster. But eh tu Bill Maher??? I've lost respect for the guy. WE don't need him on MSNBC beating up on Kerry. MSNBC has enough of that in it's daily programming. It's so easy to do that. Guess who won't be watching Real Time on Friday???

11. only if
I decide to watch the pundits spew their evil at Kerry afterwards. I'll need a couple of stiff ones to watch how they ooh and aah over the performance of the president while slamming Kerry left and right. I think I'll watch the debates on CSpan.
