Will Kerry pull off the swing state trifecta?
It is looking good. At the flawed (in the GOP's favor right now) electoral-vote.com, the big three swing states--basically two of which are needed to win the Presidency--show:

Ohio (20 EVs): GWBought 47, Kerry 46 <--this is from a GOP-sponsored poll, so Kerry is actually ahead

Florida (27): Kerry 49, The Dark Side 48

Pennsylvania (21): Kerry 46, * 41.

After that 10-Dem-to-1-Rep new voter registration number came out in Ohio, you had to know Ohio wasn't as bad as those dumb Gallup and Survey USA polls showed. Boo yah!

3. it is internet slang for "owned"
In other words, * and company got owned (beaten) by the UN when that photo was taken.

9. comes from online gaming . . .
originally from trying to type the word "owned" while also trying to keep from getting shot in online games like Quake, Wolfenstein, etc.

which, of course, leads to my all time favorite variation. . . Stallowned :)

6. yeah, Diebold may deliver that state over
The legislature here actually declined a bill designed to mandate paper receipts for each vote cast electronically. They don't even try to hide the fact that they don't want there to be a recount if Diebold "loses" a few votes in Palm Beach County, Miami-Dade, etc.

7. It's nice to hear the confidence
from someone that lives there. The polls out of the state have been a bit discouraging as of late, but the voter registration numbers are very good news. It would be nice if your state votes more similarly to your neighbors in the north, rather than those to the south.

4. Kerry WILL win PA
Edited on Wed Sep-29-04 05:28 AM by fujiyama
A Q-Pac poll has Kerry up three in the state. This matches with the others. Bush may have had a bounce there, but it has faded. Kerry will win it by 4-6% (my guess).

Kerry SHOULD be able to win FL. Aside from the fact that the place itself has so many problems, I truly believe that the voting trends there are in the dems' favor - demographics, anger over the last election, new voter registrations, Bush's weakening support among Cuban Americans.

OH, I'm not so sure about. I think it's closer than many polls state. My own guess is that it's within two-three points right now. Kerry still has a chance, but if they're throwing out registrations, I lose a lot of confidence in the place. Still, the voter registrations there have been very impressive.

I also think Kerry has a better chance in WV than some think...Ideally he could win all the Gore states, and NH, and WV. That's not quite enough. Plus ther's the possibility of losing IA or WI.

That's why FL is needed I believe.

8. And I will repeat again, in 2000 40,000 of the 50,000 Muslims voted for *
But this year * will be hard pressed to get 2,000 of them to vote for him.
