Do Americans care about the war in Iraq?
I know we do, but WTF? How is Bush getting a pass on this war? Everyone, except for Bush and Cheney, knows that this war is a disaster and getting worse.

Fucking up a war does not make you strong on terrorism. My belief is that those who are pro-weapons and pro-war should be embarrassed by this disaster. We are losing to a bunch of unorganized extremists and everyone is kissing Bush's ass.

It's disgusting.

1. For the most part, no

Someone has to have that oil. It's better that we have it than the Russians or Chinese. In order to make an omelette, you have to break a few legs, er eggs. The terrorists hate us for our freedom, for our way of life. And the average American likes his or her quality of life and doesn't want to give it up. And Sadaam was a bad man.

2. If the media was doing their job & showing the public . . .
what is really going on, then yes, there would be outrage. And Dimson would be so behind in the polls. But unless you seek it out, if the news of how awful it is doesn't get out, most people fall for the BS that things are improving over there.

Someone needs to take a camera & shoot some footage of the schools the children go to with sewage flowing down the halls, local residents trying to live their lives with no electricity for many hours a day, the lack of supplies & decent sanitatin in the health care facilities. People need to see this on the 6:00 network news -- not just cable. It needs to be plastered on the front page of every newspaper.

I am so sickened by the media & their complicity in this administrations crimes. They are as guilty as bushco in this mess. Kerry better do something about them come day one in office or they will bring him down.

4. I hate to think they've sunk so low that they wouldn't.
but that is certainly a possibility. They would turn off the tv & go shopping cuz "If I don't know about it, it doesn't exist."

5. No
It's good for a crying jag at the start of a football game when someone caterwalls the national anthem and planes fly overhead. Now, if you want them to care just lead them in this cheer: Give me a D, give me an R, give me an A, give me an F, give me a T------and give me your first born as a blood sacrifice to my holy wars. Then they would care.

6. "I hate Saddam" is the comment I hear
Edited on Wed Sep-29-04 10:06 AM by Hamlette
from people who don't pay attention to current events, don't watch the news, don't read the papers.

My reply is always: "I do too, but his life is a lot less important than my son's and I will never let my son die in a war just to get rid of some piece of trash who was not bothering us."
