What gimmicks, other than soundbites, will Bush try at the debates?
What if he tries to shape the debate by making a policy announcement, e.g., announcing a plan to bring home the troops within 2 years?

What if the debates get interrupted because Bush has to contend with a matter of national importance?

Since the Republican political mission is devoid of ethics, I think they'll try anything if they think it will work.

1. They're playing defense...they will play it safe...

....and sit on their 'lead'. You don't change your roster or your game for the playoffs -- you dance with them what got you there.

I don't expect them to do anything that hasn't been shown to work before.

Anything off the wall risks a f@ck-up. Junta Boy never calls his own plays, he only runs what they send in from the bench.

Bush will have nine or ten key words he'll try to work into every answer.

Bush will have three or four potted answers he'll try to use in reply to every question.

He won't actually answer any questions -- he'll just work out which one of the questions he and his handlers prepped the actual question most closely resembled, and trot out that answer.

2. He won't have to try anything cuz the media will win it for him.
A-holes. I hate them all -- bushco & the media. They are every bit as guilty in this mess as bushco is.

3. He'll trample all over the "rules"
He will exceed his time limits, he will address Kerry directly and ask him questions, he will insist on answers from Kerry, he will bully the moderator, he will elbow his way past all the restrictions his campaign staff carefully drew up. They asked for those restrictions on Kerry, not their guy you know. Bush will have no compunction at all about violating the rules. And if (not when) the moderator admonishes him, he will wave it aside.

Then, all the whores will come out and marvel at what masterful character Stupidhead is, what a forceful and leaderly personality he has, they will decry the restrictions that tried to stop George from being George (selective amnesia will prevent them from recalling that it was Bush who insisted on the restrictions in the first place), and Bush will heatedly refuse to participate in any more debates.

At which point the mighty Republican Wurlitzer will wheeze into action, endorsing Bush's take-charge attitude and his refusal to take any shit whatsoever from the debate commission.

Next question? Yes, in the back.

4. He'll belch loudly, unzip his fly, and pee on Kerry's leg.
What a good ol boy. I wanna have a beer with him... except... he's an alcoholic...

5. Doesn't make any difference
see: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=911290&mesg_id=911290

If Kerry uses this line, in some form, at the point in the debate where Bush starts any scheiss, we will be witness to a "TV moment" of truly biblical dimensions. Either it will piss him off so badly that he may start throwing things or Bush will have a flashback to The Pet Goat.

In either case, the media whores will be hard pressed to pass it off (who ya going to believe, me or your lyin' eyes?) and those that might be friends will be replaying it over and over.

The effect could be Karl stopping any further debates.

7. The Spin Is In...
The media eats the Rove black is white is black line. Examples: The DNC was mean-spirited. The RNC showed a strong America. Bunnypants post convention bounce. Woman want Bunnypants. Guys want to have beers with this loser and so on and so on.

The spinners are getting their last talking points right now. No matter how Bunnypants answers, the spinners will go with the Rove and Hughes scripted lie; even if it's 180 from what their doofus says or attempts to say. If he gaffe's...that's "being human"...and so on.

The front page post of how the media will make Bunnypants the winner and Kerry look weak and/or arrogant is almost the talking points verbatim.

Now...will the people who are truly undecided really be swung by this bombardment of "tell a lie enough and people believe it to be true" game Rove plays works will be really told on Nov. 2.

8. I'd give a shiny nickel
To the first interviewer who says to Bunnypants when he starts bleating, "Let me finish", "No, you're making an asinine point, and there's no way to save it. I'm going on to my next question."

How about it, media whores? What would you do for a shiny nickel?
