Jokes Over! GLOVES ARE OFF! Kerry is about to annihilate the boy prince!
Yuk Yuk Yuk... We've yucked it up for the last couple of days lowering expectations for JK and errr praising the stupidest pResident in the history of this country. I've seen multiple references on Cable News stating that indeed, Dubya is a great debater.

OK... I can't take it anymore! I know, I know, I've been the biggest perpetrator of threads stating that the Dub is going to kick JK's ass...... But man, I can't keep up the charade!

My fellow Democrats, know this! Tomorrow night you will witness a hollow, stupid man who will utter two letters..((((UH)))) about a thousand times. You will sit and marvel at just how ignorant and stupid he is and feel deep shame for a country that put this Orangutan office.

This is the beginning of the end of our National Nightmare!

3. I would agree in principle...
but, considering we are apparently having a drought, in the US, of people with two firing neurons(that talk to each other...), and add in our stellar media, I get the feeling that Chimpy could sit at his podium, gibbering, drooling and masturbating furiously, picking nits and eating them and get an A+ from the SCLM.

Come to think of it, he may do just that. ;-)

14. You win the...
.... gross image of the day award :) I know what you are saying and that is my only real fear about this whole thing.

As a friend of mine recently said (highly paraphrased) "Stupid Americans have never had a president of their own and now they do. They like the fact he is stupid like they are. For them, his stupidity is not a liability, it makes him one of them."

Regardless, Kerry is going to win, it is written :)

5. Problem is...........
Many will lap it up, likening him to their dimwitted offspring, who, if Smirky can make it big, so can they.

Hey. Its the Special Olympics Race for President. Didnt' you get the memo.

All his fuckups will be 'cute' and forgiven and explained away and he'll be 'direct' and kerry will be 'not plain spoken'.

I love your optimism. I hope you are right. I'm afraid you aren't because of the media spinning of the whole thing, and the public's reaction to Kerry as a perceived 'smartypants' and bush as a 'good ole boy tryin' ta do tha raght thang'

I live amongst Smirk supporters. It ain't gonna change many minds.

32. I know what you mean
Smirk's country guy plain-spokin humble act sells well to a lot of average folks. Of course there is absolutely nothing "humble" about him. He's a vengeful, spiteful, petulant, mean-spirited, silver spoon prima donna that has little understanding or care about everyday Americans and their problems. It's just amazing to watch him eagerly support greedy corporations that are throwing millions of Americans out of work and to see so many down and out Americans say "Thank You Mr. Bush, May I Have Another".

Kerry has to rip off Smirk's false facade and expose the Cowardly Creep for exactly what he is. Smirk’s problem is that he needed a good butt kicking 50 years ago, but his parents pampered him, fed his under-sized mind with a raging ego and turned him into a monster.

May God give Kerry the strength to win this election.

6. I just hope Rove pumps him full of Xanax
and other mind altering substances. I'm hoping for nothing less than a complete mental/verbal/physical breakdown. Something so obvious that most of his supporters recoil in horror and the media can't possibly ignore. Kerry will obviously win on substance, not a doubt in my mind.

7. Did you catch Dan Reed (aka Doogie Howser) on the
daily show praising John Kerry's skill in an effort to set him up? He talked on and on about how a Senator debates all the time and Governors and Presidents don't. What a crock. A piece of Saran Wrap is less transparent.

Oh and just for fun:

It is a similar feeling that I had when Michael Jordan got the ball with the seconds waning...

Or Barry Bonds gets up to bat with runners in scoring position...

Or Lance Armstron gets to the base of that gargantuan mountain range...

Seriously. I have that sense of inevitability about our man.

10. Won't be that easy
but if Kerry gets off to a good start I think he'll hammer down by the third debate. Bush will be looking like a complete ass if Kerry comes out with the piss and vinegar he's developed over the last month or so. I heard him on a talk radio show here in Tampa and he had the hosts so fluster. I was great. He came out and blasted them calling them liars and then went down a list of facts that disputed some GOP sludge they threw at him. They couldn't get him off the line or retort anything. They had nothing to back it up. It was a slam dunk!!! It was classic. If he can back it up like he did here then America will see how tough he really is. I was so impressed and it sold me on this guy. Love your excitement trumad. Let's hope this is the beginning of the end. Chimp-b-gone!

12. Time poll: Bush over Kerry 44% to 32% in debates...
In any event, while the candidates get ready for Thursday's big event, the drive to manage expectations has been underway for a while. To be sure, the Bush campaign has been going out of its way to use comic-like hyperbole -- going so far as to say Kerry is literally "better than Cicero," the ancient Roman orator -- but it doesn't appear to be working. From the latest Time magazine poll:

Who do voters expect to "win" the debates? They pick Bush over Kerry, 44% to 32%.

This is certainly good news for Kerry, who may impress voters who aren't expecting much. It also points to an altogether different problem for Bush -- people actually expect more from the president than the Texas governor.

I can't find similar data from four years ago, but I have a strong hunch that voters thought Al Gore would beat Bush in the 2000 debates. Even Bush supporters probably didn't believe their guy would be impressive in this setting. And yet, by a fairly wide margin, voters now seem to believe that Bush will "win" the debates over Kerry. This poses a dilemma that will be hard for Karl Rove to spin out of.

Four years ago, if Bush spoke in complete sentences, he exceeded expectations for his ability to be articulate. If Bush could pronounce the name of a world leader, it was seen as a sign of international affairs expertise. Bush benefited, to borrow a phrase, from the soft bigotry of low expectations.

Americans may still not believe Bush has a towering intellect, but they do expect him to be a knowledgeable and impressive leader of the free world. No matter how much Bush aides play up Kerry's alleged debating skills, there's no way to change the fact that voters will demand more from Bush this year than last time around.

And that could spell trouble for the incumbent.

17. Kerry has to unglue Smirk (I'll say it again)
And we all know this is possible because Smirk, though his handlers do a good job at helping him hide it, really is a mental basket case. How many times have we watched Smirk meltdown and/or throw a fit during a press conference or TV interview? Remember the last press conference when Bubble Boy just started babbling incoherently as Condi Rice looked on in horror?

This always happens when someone throws him a question or challenge his handlers did not prepare him for. Soooo....therein lies the key for Kerry. What to say to or about Bush that A) destroys his lies and B) leaves him to ad lib a defense he has no answer for.

There are certain lines of attack I can think of that could do great damage to the Smirk.

One is for Kerry to skewer Smirk over his lack of Border Protection during a Time of War which allows, according to Time Magazine, the influx of 3 million undocumented immigrants illegal entry into the U.S. every year. This TOTALLY blows away and discredits Smirk's claims that his highest priority is to protect the American People from Terrorism as Terrorists clearly can (and are) mixing in with the immigrants coming in to America.

I know, I know. This is not a popular subject with many democrats, but let me assure you it is a "hot button" issue with millions of republicans and independents that are raging mad at Smirk because of his Open Border policy and are a hair trigger away from voting against him. And as, a life long Republican--up until recently--I have a good feel for what concerns Republicans and independents.

If Kerry comes out for strong, REAL border enforcement I'll tell ya all right now, he's going to pick up support from the so-called Security Moms who labor under the (false) illusion that Smirk is protecting them and hundreds of thousands of disgusted republicans/independents that want this issue addressed.

And Smirk NEVER handles this issue well. How can he? I mean how can he spin that he is protecting the borders when it's a documented fact that the borders of America are open and violated every day by thousands?

Getting this issue out on the table will greatly weaken Smirk's Security advantage and expose him for the liar he is. It will also in my opinion, throw him completely off track and vulnerable to other challenging questions about his poor stewardship of the country.

Further, I suspect Smirk's handlers have not coached him on this because Kerry has (unfortunately) not made it an issue. But it is an issue that resonates with millions of Americans and a ready made sledgehammer to smash down Smirk's illusion that he is doing a great job in securing America from further Terrorism.

Like I said, many of you may not like this line of attack but IT WILL WORK. And it will get the stammering Drug Store Cowboy reeling Big Time.

My only question is how Kerry can work this into the Non-Debate, Debate Smirk has constructed to avoid precisely these kinds challenges. Seems that Kerry would have to bring this up at the first question that somewhat relates to Border Security.

I've brought this up before on DU with little response. I think many forget that the "Primary Objective" of this campaign is to beat Smirk and to demonstrate the same "Killer Instinct" Smirk has shown he has.

Time to go for the throat.

online last night. William Weld was the main guest.

This was the first time I'd seen Kerry debate someone one-on-one.

I'm feeling really confident now. He's quick on his feet, biting, funny.. prosecutorial.

Tomorrow could be the best non-Election night we have all year.
