Then the spin machine say's "Kerry ruined the debates"

1. Oooooh... I would LOVE to see...
Georgie stamp his little feet and waddle off the stage in a huff Thursday!

And if he bails out of the next two, I'd say JK ought to insist that the show go on, tell the world that he's ready, willing and able to answer any and all questions.

:)

2. Yup, that was my thought....Bush becomes THE VICTIM....he wants
to play be "the rules" but the networks "won't let him" (yeah, the networks that have enabled this guy for 4 years SUDDENLY are working against him????).

The BAD NETWORKS give VICTIM, RULE FOLLOWING GEORGE a NOBLE excuse for bugging out of the debates............

3. That's going to be a tough sell
when W has always portrayed himself as the steady, stay-the-course candidate.

He will not look good backing down in any way, shape, or form.

5. that was my first thought also
and now after hearing Randi Rhodes read off some of the "rules" that take up 32 pages, this definately sounds to me as if there is enough leeway there to make the charge that a rule was broken. They definately know that Bush will not be able to hold his own, especially with the topics of the next two debates. Kerry has been campaignng for months on those issues and will not have to rehearse a single thing, while Bush doesn't have a clue as to what policies he has had others develop. It will take time out of his campaigning to memorize the answers in those two.
