Question for swing and red state people
Living in Massachusetts, my impression of Kerry is that he's gotten stronger and his campaign seems very focused. It even seems better now than it was prior to the Repugnant National Convention. Yet, even the most favorable polls show that Kerry is still fighting an uphill battle.

Is his campaign getting more effective in swing and red states? Does it seem to be improving in the last couple of weeks? As a campaign, how does it compare with the Repug campaign?

2. Georgia
There is no campaigning going on here, so the answer to if it's getting more effective is no.

But from what I read and see on tv, it is getting much more effective overall. More streamlined....

I still think the hope vs. doom and gloom of Bush/Cheney is playing well. None of the Republicans I bother talking to can give me any good reason for supporting Bush. I love getting them to admit that he's an idiot. Such fun for me...

4. Hey, Georgia, get out there and pound the pavements. We have
worked our buns off here in Ky. We are allegedly behind, but at least we are rebuilding our Dem Party. It is in shambles.

7. You have no idea how hard we have been working here
Voter registration is up in GA by 50% from the last election.
Over 300,000 people since last September. The latest polls have put Georgia in the Barely Bush category, which is major since he won the state in 2000 by 15% (I think).

What I meant by no signs of campaigns is from the national or state parties. We get no commercials or even any campaign literature from the parties. Our state party is in a shambles too. Right now, the grassroots organizations have more pull than the state party.

Two good ones to check out:

3. It seemed for the longest time
that Kerry was just standing around getting hit. Now it seems like he's swinging back. I think the situation is getting back to pre-republican convention when everything was looking so good. I was starting to get very pessimistic, but now I think this election is about 50-50

6. We are flooded with commercials here in Las Vegas
On national channels and local, all day and night, often one after another. I counted the other night and it was about 60-40 in favor of Kerry spots during primetime. There is one local congressional race -- Porter/Gallagher -- that takes up plenty of airtime from each side. Harry Reid and Shelley Berkeley are not threatened so virtually no ads from those races. I almost wish Reid had his typical cliffhanger. There are several vicious local rightwingers on talk radio, plus the predictable national radio whores. At least one very good local liberal radio guy, and Ed Schultz at midday.

My impression of the ads: Kerry should return to more biographical and specific issue ads instead of frantically responding to Bush attacks. Kerry's commercials are too involved, changing from one picture to another instead of focusing on one basic image with a memorable short sound byte. Kerry's negatives have climbed in the polls the last six weeks much more than Bush's positives have surged.

I walk the Strip every day while checking out football betting odds from sportsbook to sportsbook. While talking to both locals and tourists alike, it's obvious and deflating the basic dynamic has not changed: mention Kerry's name and too many say flip-flopper and Vietnam and questionmarks about leadership vs. terrorism.

The pro-Kerry crowd is much more passionate. I really haven't detected any pessimism due to recent polls. And the pro-Dem voter registrations at grocery stores, etc. is ongoing and impressive, much greater than anything I've seen in almost 20 years here.

8. SW Ohio here
I can tell you that ACT, VoteMob, Voting is Power, ACRORN and MoveOn PAC is here. In fact we stumble over each other with our clipboards. They are registered. In fact there are 300,000 new voter registrations in Ohio. Most in poor and minority zip codes.

I carry the TWO-FACED graphic with me when I street canvass and I have come to the conclusion it is meant for the youth and minority demographic. They love it and hate him. get 3M Photo Spray Adhesive and decorate the neighborhoods where our base reside.

Go to http://somnamblst.tripod.com to download high resolution TIF or PDF file to print and distribute everywhere. Utility poles, bus stops, bulletin boards, newspaper racks, car windshields, phone booths, etc. Guerilla marketers needed to create MAXIMUM BUZZ!

9. I think it is getting better.
Kerry and Edwards made a few campaign stops, one here in Orlando, before the last hurricane hit. It sounded like a lot of people went to the rally in Orlando. They most likely would have been in Florida a lot more if we weren't having weekly problems with hurricanes.
