Nightline suggests...candidates simply ignore debate rules!
Jim Wooten's opening piece pointed out that the only signatories to all the unprecedented debate "rules" are one rep from Kerry's camp and one from Bush's. Not the candidates themselves, not the networks, not the parties, not even the sponsor, the debate commission, was consulted or signed on to the terms. So Wooten suggested, either candidate CAN make some serious news, and can stop the debate from being boring by simply ignoring the rules.

But I don't think either one has the balls, unfortunately. Bush is stupid enough not to know how to follow them, but Kerry won't attack or use this fact to his benefit. Nothing would be better than to catch Bushy off-gaurd by veering from the format!

3. what i would like to see happen is Bush first breaks the rule
and when called on it by the moderater, Kerry "defends" the rule breaking by saying he thinks the american people deserve an honest debate and if the rules are preventing it then we should not follow them. by doing this kerry opens up the debate so he doesn't have to follow the rules. and since bush was the first one to break the rule they can't attack kerry on it.
