To those who think Kerry's tan is important...
Dick Cheney is pale. Condi Rice is blotchy. George W. Bush has ginblossoms.

My dick has freckles.

None of these things matters. Get over it.

5. tan
I don't think the "tan" even exists, or else it's grossly overstated. That Drudge pic was photoshopped without a doubt.

Kerry was on Good Morning America yesterday and looked good. Not orange, not falsely tanned.

6. it didn't even have to be photoshopped
it could've been the lighting. It's the most banal complaint since Al Gore wore "Earth Tones". It's all bullshit. I can't believe anybody here wastes a minute thinking about it.

8. Like I said elsewhere
Go to yahoo's election section and flip through the slide show.

He's not that color orange in most of the pictures. It's just that ONE picture, that's all. He looks perfectly normal in all the others.

Geez.

11. Was there only that ONE picture?
There are no other pictures taken that day that show him the same hue? Oh, man. If so, could Drudge be accused of maliciously trying to influence the election?

Go to Yahoo.com. See for yourself. He is not that color in any of the other photos.

16. If Drudge posted a doctored photo, then I think he should be next
on the MOVEON.org list. Altering a photo is blatant and is malicious. We need to go after their gonads.

...so he wouldn't have to give Tom Tomorrow credit, it was so pathetic! - http://www.thismodernworld.com/weblog/mtarchives/week_2004_07_25.html#001662

7. I think it's a big deal that Bush
appears to be growing hair on his neck.

That is a really disgusting fashion statement. I think the media should be holding him accountable for it.

10. there is also an agenda behind it
Edited on Thu Sep-30-04 04:49 AM by JI7
they are attempting to make him seem less than a man. like he is taken care of by other women financially. and his wife is the one who "wears the plants" in the family.(no real man would let his wife speak out the way she does) and some other shit all from his expensive hairstyles, swiss cheese on cheesesteak, the sports he is involved in.

much of it comes from drudge and fox news reports it on tv and then other media follow. but bush gets his hair done by some expensive middle eastern lady yet they act as if he just goes to the closest barber shot and gets a quick cheap trim. they pass him off as some cowboy yet he is afraid of horses and most of his cowboy things are expensive luxury type things like the costly boots. yet none of this is ever mentioned.

i saw bush's face yesterday and someone has posted a picture of it on this thread and he looks horrible. but if he shows up at the debate tomorrow with more color and less haggard looking you wont see drudge posting about his makeover.

what i find annoying is when democrats start complaining about why did kerry have to do this as if they would not have found something else stupid to go after him. we should all just be going after them for reporting on this with so many important issues they never cover.

17. My fav terms are "doughy" and "pasty"
It seems to me that the R's are simply appealing to their base: people who sit on their asses and watch insipid TV shows and would never dream of going outside for exercise. The same ones who laugh at "the intelligent elite" and would never dream of picking up a book that would broaden their minds. If any of the Bush cabal ever looked healthy and fit, or ever read a book more advanced than "The Pet Goat," it would turn off a huge portion of their base.

18. Only fair-skinned, lily-white people are fit to be President.
If you "tan easily," if you know what I mean and I think you do, better keep your place and not run for the highest office in the land.

20. Sorry, but it IS important.
It should NOT be important. I will state that immediately. But there is a world of difference between what SHOULD be and what IS. The looks of a candidate effect the perceptions that people form. Nixon's heavy beard & dark eyes vs. JFK's good looks helped JFK win. And that was a razor thin victory.

The orange color detracts from the message at a time when he doesn't need any distractions.
