Help me!! I am surrounded by 04 stickers.
I saw no less than 10 just yesterday. I am in repuke country here in North San Diego county. Did the refreeplican party mail them out or what? And.....by the way, they are ALL men and 90% of them trucks. I took my kid to get his hair cut a few days ago in a strip mall. next door they are doing some construction on a new business being put in. A couple of the trucks of the men working on this shop also had them. Maybe it's one of the local unions. I don't know.

On another note. I went by our local Democratic office and FINALLY got my Kerry stickers. I bought the very cool magnetic ones. But I have a new Mini Cooper and I am afraid I'll get it keyed. It's on there now. But I am seriously thinking about taking it off when I park in large lots and leave my car unattended. I can't tell you how many dirty looks I got yesterday. Even at winterball practice. Have seen a few Kerry stickers but the W04 stickers are all over the place.

Should I invest in a wide tip sharpe or just carry a gun?

1. Well don't carry a gun
I don't think temporary insanity would work, do you? I mean they're the ones who are insane for voting for Bush and you won't be of use to us in jail!

When they give you a dirty look smile and laugh. That always gets their panties in a twist.

Sorry I can't be of more assistance, I'm sort of going through the same thing myself. My six year old Taurus has been dinged on the passenger side door rather badly.

3. I think you should be brave & keep the sticker on. Taking it off would be
knuckling under to intimidation. It's being a little afraid like this that is the first step to being afraid to stand up to bigger things, and then our country is truly lost. I know how you feel, I worried a few months ago when I put my "REdefeat Bush" sticker on...then my neighbor told me she liked it and I felt cheered. So.

These are scary times.

6. Put 20 K/E stickers on your car to counteract the Bad Karma.
I'm serious. Any candidate worthy of 20 stickers on one car has to be some hot kinda shit.

:D

4. I'm surrounded too here in Wisconsin suburbs
Luckily the city is more liberal.

If you are worried about the car, can you get a button instead.

They can't key YOU. You probably will still get looks. Just make sure you're up on the issues so you can counter anything they say to you.

I've found by wearing a button for the last two months that I go to church and work with more Dems than I thought (3 at work, and about 15 at church). I guess when they call us (ELCA) the "liberal Lutherans" they really mean it. And that's supposed to be a bad thing? We've gotten the official shake of the finger from our more Conservative Lutheran cousins for our stances on abortion and gay pastors.

Meanwhile, it turns out I didn't need anyone's help to trash my car. I did that all by myself.

14. Yes I did get a button.
Do you think it is appropriate to wear it when I volunteer in the elementary school? I like the idea of wearing it all the time.

22. I wear it everywhere
Unless there is a specific rule against anyone wearing anything political, I don't see the harm of wearing it to school. Just tell people you've promised yourself that you would not take it off until the election. Most just appreciate that I've gotten involved.

I used to put it on and take it off depending on how appropriate I thought it would be, or whether or not I thought I'd get flak for it. I finally decided that I was chickening out, and decided to wear it no matter what.

The only place I'm more discreet is in the pub, if only because I don't need a drunk person coming at me. The regulars know where I stand, that's enough sometimes.

And even there I'm still wearing the button, but it's covered by a home-made Goose Island Honker Ale "Vote the Goose 2004" I tell them my platform is "More Beer" and "More Beer Parties." Our candidate is the AFLAK duck. Hey, gotta have some fun, eh?

9. Not a union thing.
Most if not all unions endorse Kerry/Edwards. This time around we have the endorsement of the Police and Firefighters unions, they went for Chimpy last time.

11. Hi, Liberalnproud, read what I just posted here:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x923437

I see actually far fewer W04 stickers here than you would expect. Also, I went to www.kerrygear.com and ordered bumperstickers myself. They are 10 for $7 and postage. I just give them away to anyone who wants one. I have given away 8 so far, and I have ordered another 10. It's just one of the things I do to help this campaign along.

12. I feel your pain.
My ratio of stickers varies widely from day to day.

One day last week it was 4:3 Kerry, but 2 days ago I got majorly depressed because it was 7:2 Bush.

Be brave! I don't want to seem snarky, but if you're more concerned about your paint job than your democracy, you've got bigger problems.

My husband and I have a car that looks weighted down with all the Dem/anti Bush stickers on it. We are in the suburbs of Dallas. If we can do it, so can you.

These assholes think that their intimidation will shut us up. Well, it won't work on me.

18. I am pretty brave and sassy.
I don't think that has anything to do with paying to get a new paint job. Maybe I will put one on my Wrangler and drive that till November.

Yes, having a scratch the length of your car sucks.

But, having a government full of fascists sucks worse.

Putting one on your Wrangler would be a great start.

Honestly, we've had ours on for over a year and haven't had anything happen. Our county is 85% Republican. My best friend out here is also brave and sassy, and ALSO drives a mini. She has gotten the finger, but nothing worse.

She actually had her car WRAPPED in a Howard Dean theme for months and never got keyed. Scroll down to see the Deanie Cooper:
