Ed Gillespie's "spin" after the debate...
No doubt, all the Repub spinmeisters will be out to spin the debate into a Bush "victory", no matter if he falls flat on his face. The majority of people, after the first Gore/Bush debate thought Gore won, but after the spinmeisters did their thing, they were able to turn it into a Bush victory. They will attempt to do the same thing tonight. And we can expect the media to give them the microphone to make their case and never question their motives.

Gillespie and others will say, "The pResident came across as honest and straightforward to the American people. He may not be the best debater in the world but the "people" know he will do what he says and they beleive he is the best person to fight the war on terror. Overall, it was a very good night for the "pResident"...blah..blah..blah...

Here's the email they send after you sign up:

Dear xxxxx,

Tomorrow night, John Kerry and George Bush will debate foreign policy for 90 minutes. As far as swing voters and the media are concerned, the real debate will begin once Kerry and Bush leave the stage: Who really won? Why?

This is where you come in.

As members of Media Corps, you have lots of experience interacting with the media -- print, radio, online. We are organizing a national post-debate, rapid-response effort that will reinforce Kerry's position on Iraq and we need Media Corps to set the pace. As soon as the debate ends, we will first e-mail Media Corps members the rapid-response assignment.

Please make sure you check your e-mail the moment the debate ends. Then, please act as quickly as possible.

We can't provide you any more detail until the debate is over, except that all you'll need is access to e-mail and/or a telephone. To prepare yourself or your Media Corps group, please make sure you have the telephone numbers for local and state radio stations and TV networks ready. Please look up that information today using Congress.org. Any other information, such as the e-mail addresses for major news networks, we will provide you.

Best,

Amanda Michel
Internet Team

P.S. For live, real-time debate commentary and coverage, check out the Kerry-Edwards blog during the debate.
