90 seconds...just enough time for bush's canned answers and no more
We are going to hear verbatim responses from Bush to questions tonight. Transcribe the O'reilly interview and any of his stump speeches and that is going to be what we hear, irregardless of the questions. And, sadly, that will be good enough. H'e throw in a few newly coined one liners, but for sure all his answers will be scripted.

1. Fear for our country ladies and gentlemen
And for our children and our children's children. I don't think its an exaggeration. The media and the dirty tricks and propaganda of the bush cheney campaign have skewered John Kerry. It will continue tonight. I'm sure that Bush said that he wouldn't debate unless his conditions were met. They apparently were. 90 seconds is not enough time for anyone to fully articulate an intelligent and well thought out explanation of policy at time of war.

The most frightening part is, a large number of the american populus is bying the propaganda. I wonder if we (meaning those that see what's truly going on) are similar to the citizens of Germany as Hitler was coming to power. Most say even if the worst happens, its only 4 more years. I don't agree. Cheney can run after Bush, with the same Rove machine in place or even Jeb. We are possibly looking at many many years of Bush and his ilk unless we get out the vote this time.

3. I actually do fear the terrorists!
I fear the ones in the White House.

This entire administration wouldn't be nearly so hard to take if the frickin' media were doing thier job! I cannot believe what passes for news these days!

2. Right you are. And when Kerry lands a few good jabs re the Iraq War...
... Bush is just going to come back with the childish "flip-flop" line .

Bush: "I don't know what to believe when Senator Kerry talks about Iraq! First he's for the war, then he's against it! He's taken so many sides on this issue.... blah blah blah." (of course, not addressing the question or accusation at all)

You're right. The sad part is, that'll be enough for most viewers.

I wish at least one of the moderators would have the guts to call him to the carpet when he refuses to really address the question and begins to spew his canned responses (they won't really qualify as "answers").

Actually, that could be a good strategy for Kerry. EVERY SINGLE TIME Bush refuses to answer a question and devolves into scripted platitudes, Kerry should point it out.

Kerry: "Again, the President has decided to not address the question! Well, I WILL! I don't run away from hard issues and hide behind scripted platitudes! Mr. Bush likes to claim he's a plain speaker, but he's anything but! What we're hearing tonight is nothing more than the same canned speech he has given on Iraq for the last year and a half!"

Kerry has to go for the jugular in this debate!

4. Yes, he does, as best he can given the constraints
And that's exactly what the "constraints" were designed for.. to protect Bush from being called on the carpet.

WHY DON'T AMERICANS GET IT!
