CNN/Gallup so I don't know how reliable it is.

The phrases I keep hearing are
"bush can't just promise things anymore"
"he has a record to defend"
"he gets mad if you interupt him"
and "he does have a temper"

boosting Kerry's performance. Oh, sure he didn't do much in the senate, all they do is practice debating there! So he will of course do better than GOD HIMSELF, Jesus W Bush!

Meanwhile, it's ridiculous to suggest that the campaigns are deliberately playing down expectations.
