In your dreams, what are you hoping Kerry says tonight?
I'm hoping Kerry and comes right out and gives bush a good kick in the nuts (figuratively speaking, of course). Forget about the rules--there are no rules against these guys. People won't be watching tonight to see who's more of a proper gentleman. They want to see a fighter that will do whatever it takes to defend them. I know that fighter is John Kerry, and that's who I want to see tonight. I want to see Kerry take bush's failures and lies and keep beating him over the head with them.

Kerry was doing horribly before the primaries until he became more like Howard Dean, not so much in his positions, but in his attitude. Yet as soon as became the nominee he reverted to the old John Kerry. It's o.k. to move toward the middle in your policy positions, but he should have kept the same aggressive attitude. He did not. He didn't respond aggressively to the swift liars crap and it cost him the lead in the polls.

Recently Kerry has become more aggressive and it's helped him a lot. Tonight he needs to step it up even more. I would love to hear him say something like this:
__________

"The President likes to accuse me of being a flip-flopper. He says we need to be decisive to win the war on terror. Well, the President sure was decisive about Iraq. He had his mind made up when he first took office that he wanted to invade Iraq. He refused to listen to anybody that disagreed with him. He ignored all evidence that contradicted his viewpoint, and we're paying the price for it now.

"There is a time for thought and wisdom, and there is a time for decisive action. The President likes to pretend that he's a decisive leader. Yet when he received numerous warnings prior to 9/11 that an attack was coming, he took no action. Many other countries warned him that something big was coming, and george bush did nothing to defend the American people. Our own intelligence told him Osama bin Laden was planning to attack us here in the United States, and george bush did nothing to defend the American people. The system was flashing red, and george bush did nothing to defend the American people.

Then on the morning of 9/11 the President received word that our nation was under attack, and george bush did nothing to defend the American people. He continued to sit in a classroom while Americans were being slaughtered. The terrorists hit the first tower, and george bush did nothing to defend the American people. The terrorists hit the second tower, and george bush did nothing to defend the American people. Nearly an hour after the first attack, the terrorists hit the Pentagon, and george bush had still done nothing to defend the American people. In fact, according to the report of the 9/11 Commission, george bush did not even contact the head of our military until all of the attacks were finished.

Tonight, I make this promise to the American people: if, God forbid, our nation comes under attack on my watch, I will immediately take command of our military and use all of its powers to defend the American people. You can rest assured that we will continue to have the finest military the world has ever seen, and I will not hesitate for one instant to summon its forces to defend this nation and its people."

__________

I think that if Kerry were able to strongly get this point across, the election will be over. bush thinks of 9/11 as his biggest strength. Kerry has to use Rove's tactic of attacking your opponent where he's strongest and take that away from him. It's time tonight to hold george bush accountable for 9/11.

I don't expect Kerry to say this tonight, but I would love it if he did. I'd like to hear other ideas about what you wish Kerry would say.

1. In a Kerry administration
Rumsfeld, Cheney, and Rove will spend a lot of money on lawyers, but still end up in Leavenworth.

19. "...in the Kerry Administration, we will..."
He can add whatever he wants.

If JK frames it like he's already won it, he has.

Repeat after me: President Kerry.

4. "why didn't you inform the airlines of the material in the Aug. memo?"
I guess they are not being allowed to ask direct questions, but if I have an unanswered ? about homeland security, this is one of the biggies. I still feel if * had cut his vacation short and had a couple of phone calls or even lunches with airline CEOs to impress on them the serious nature of the threat, one or more of the hijackings on Sept. 11 would have been stopped at the gate. Instead, the news story of the summer was about how airlines were not getting planes out of the gate on time and how passengers faced increasing delays...so airlines were being rushed at the very time when they needed to take it slow and do a careful search of every threat.

"Why no fighters to protect our northeast coastline in the air on Sept. 11?" would be another question.

Hell, any of the un-answered questions put out by Mindy Kleinberg would suit me just fine. I am still waiting to understand why * was too busy talking to cows and reading the goat story to protect us on Sept. 11.

...prevents me from posting what I would really want him to say to Bush.

Even old Justice Stewart would regard it as obscene.

6. In my dreams...
I'd hope Kerry would beat Bush over the head repeatedly with a chair (I doubt even that would knock any sense into him)

Not gonna happen, of course....

7. This administration,
through its Secretary of Defense, said that it would be alright if only 3/4 of the Iraqi people get to vote. I tell you, and most importantly, the families of those injured and perished soldiers, THAT IS NOT A DEMOCRACY - ITS A BUSHOCRACY.

A Bushocracy shuts down all dissenting views, including soldiers' - that is not a democracy.
A Bushocracy wants to take away the rights of its citizens through Constitional Amendments - that is not a democracy.
A Bushocracy restructures congressional districts to suit their political means - that is not a democracy.
A Bushocracy gives to the rich and ignores the poor - that is not a democracy.
A Bushocracy believes a superpower should rule by the barrel of a gun - that is not a democracy.

What we have here is a group of people that do want "power for the people", they want "power for their people."

puts bush on the defensive, uses a few key phrases that are different than the ones we have already heard a thousand times, and repeats them so they penetrate the mind of masses.

Further thoughts of what to say:

Kerry's goal is not to increase American power in the Middle East or to control Iraq's oil wealth, but to assure stability in the region WHICH WAS DESTABILIZED BY BUSH. All options are on the table, but he can't say exactly what he will do because he doesn't know what he will find, etc. But hewill communicate in no uncertain terms to the Arab world that he, unlike Bush, is not going to try and control the Middle East or control their resources.

America must no longer be seen as a threat to the world, but its friend. There is much goodness and help we can bring as has been our tradition before Bush.

Bush's Iraq policy has been catastrophic for American interests and for our national security.

And when Bush calls Kerry a flip flopper, Kerry should say:

I am tired of you lying about my record, misrepresenting what I say, and for that matter lying about the war, the economy, the effect of your tax cuts, the cost of your Medicare program, the non-existent connection between Saddam and al Qaida, and just about everything else. The American people deserve better than a Commander in Chief who can't tell them the truth about anything!

12. I would honestly like to hear Kerry say
"F*ck you, George Bush. For getting our soldiers killed, ruining our economy, for fattening the wallets of your family and rich friends, for doing anything and everything possible you and your administration had done to destroy this wonderful country. F*ck you - and I am not sorry for saying it."

I know that is not the politically correct thing to say, but sometimes the arrogance and malfeasances is so astounding that you just have to say what is on your mind.

Americans will not be manipulated by fear and mischaracterization of what is really happening in this war. We demand policies that inspire hope, not fear.

it fits right in with Kerry's "fantasyland" theme, and the whore media and late-night comics have already established the comedic value of Baghdad Bob.

24. Many many things...one thing comes to mind
On September 11th, 2001 you and VP Cheney spent the day hiding in concrete bunkers. When I commanded a gun boat in Vietnam our mission was to engage the enemy not cut and run like you did on 9/11. You and your party keep saying I'm not fit to command. Based on your actions of 9/11 can you convince the American voting public you are more capable of commanding than myself?
