Report from tabling in heavily repub area yesterday (Sat)....
Results from yesterday's tabling in a very repub area:

we had a booth for a local dem state senate candidate in a very heavy repub area. nice crowd for a fall festival.
When people stopped by to call out kerry for being a flip flopper, I said something like you want to talk about flip flops? and when they said yeah, I whipped out the bush flip flops (30 of them) I copied from Kerry BLOG and did that ever shut them up....they flat out did not want to read them LOL.

I put up pics of bush making faces. When people bad mouthed Kerry I referred them to the pics of bush from the debate, telling them that's your man, doesn't he look presidential?

had some intelligent discussions and had print outs and data (copy of Kerry Iraq war resoultion speech, copies of senate record, etc)..............and also had a copy of what kerry said about the "global test". Quite a few repubs mentioned the meme of "kerry doctrine" and I refuted it with actual quotes. Two repubs actually admitted that bush was twisting the words.

the moral of the story is be prepared with documented proof when going out in public to talk politics. I learned that from the Dean and Kerry blogs.

Thanks to you all :-)

PS - do not think I made any conversions tho...

1. You might have planted just the right seeds for change
Group think won't always reach into the privacy of the voting booth. You're a patriot, Msongs. My hat's off to you.

2. Great job!
Maybe no converts....yet.

But you may have planted enough seeds of doubt for them to start listening more closely and to start questioning what they hear.

Well done!

4. You also don't know how many were standing nearby
and listening. You may have made up some minds from those who are undecided.

3. Isn't it fun when you make 'em shut up?

When their faces go slack and they just go "uh, uh, uh."
