Was Drew Carey a Bush supporter? Now he says "why vote?"
down on the page:

Meanwhile, small wonder young people are still having trouble voting. Drew Carey is not even going to bother to pull a lever come Nov. 2.

Why? The comic feels the country is run by powerful groups that control whatever candidate he might vote for. "Quit pretending that it matters, would you? Can you vote for all the nefarious cabals that really run the world? No. So f- it,"
Carey told Reason magazine.

Carey has been at Bush events- I know I've read of them but the only one I'm finding is at an inauguration ball:

...Other acts and stars serving as either entertainment or emcees included Kelsey Grammer, Drew Carey, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra and Nell Carter.

It doesn't matter of course, except to say, Here- Bush lost this high profile supporter.

Carey's a former Marine. Sad, huh? -that he doesn't even want to vote?

2. Sounds like a disappointed Bush loyalist. He knows his man
is corrupt so he's trying to trash the other guy too. I hope he doesn't vote.

4. Pathetic
It's one thing to say you feel the country's run by cabals, ok. But don't go from there to saying, "Don't bother to vote."

Move to Saudi Arabia, Drew, if you don't want to bother to vote.

9. He'd probably find himself in line of succession to the throne -
they've got a huge royal family, and about 347 people who are all in line. Wish my wife's country had so many people in line; she's like 6 or 7 out of maybe 20.

5. Bush has taken Carey's faith in him and destroyed it.

Now, us Dems need to fight to get folks like Carey to trust and support us instead of noone.

Carey is basically saying nearly the same thing Nader is. Except Nader wants folks to WASTE their vote on Nader. Wasting a vote on Nader and not using it at all will have exactly the same affect on this election: nothing.

6. Carey is a libertarian and I believe he voted that way in 2000, but ...
he has campaigned for Repukes in the past - Voiavich (spelling) in Ohio and Carey didn't mind Bush stealing the election (he even said it WASN'T stolen)
