The post debate 'polls' showed that John Kerry has the ability to take control of the media horse race, despite the daily barrage of skepticism and the outright cheerleading for Bush from media whores. It shows me that head to head, whenever John has an equal platform with Bush, he has the potential to knock down the media's stacked deck and force Bush's 'inevitability' chorus to admit the race is far from over. Most of the polls have the race 50-50 or better, favoring our candidate.
Tomorrow we will see Bush's deliberate lies unravel before John Kerry's's diligent presentation of our case against this administration. The next two presidential debates will allow John more opportunities to stand tall against Bush's withering defense of his failed presidency. Bush and Cheney are on the defense. It's an easier job for John Kerry to convince (as Bush is already known to be a failure), that he has the capacity to positively affect and change the direction of the war, the economy, and the future of the nation than Bush can as he defends his own sorry record of failures.
There is less opportunity for the known Bush, as he had with his partisan convention, or with his misleading ads, to put our camp on our heels again, short of a bin Laden capture. Even then, the public will have enough of a positive profile of John Kerry to measure his activism against years of Bush bungling of the pursuit of the 9-11 orchestrators, and Bush's diversion of our troop strength to Iraq.
With more exposure, John Kerry has the potential to build on his support, while the same exposure makes Bush more vulnerable to the unraveling of his web of distortions and cover-up of the mismanagement and scandal that has so far defined his administration, from Iraqi prison torture to Halliburton, from misleading the country into war to misleading the country on Medicare, prescription drugs, No Child Left Behind, industry influence in their destruction of environmental regulations, attempted dismantling of Social Security, attempted assault on the constitution to discriminate against gays and lesbians, assault on our freedoms and liberties by his toady Ashcroft, assault on a woman's right of choice of birth control and abortion options, the rape of our treasury to the benefit of his wealthy benefactors, while attempting to reduce combat pay for our soldiers, making them pay for their own meals in the hospital, the cutting of benefit overall for soldiers, the denial or delay of promised medical care for soldiers and veterans, coupled with his determination to commit our country to a continuous world war . . .
One more bounce by John Kerry, and we will be well on the way to sending these counterfeit losers in the White House back to whatever rock they crawled out from under.
