10. Be aware they are forbidden by most distributors to ship ANYTHING

prior to 12:01 AM release date. While distributors won't pull Amazon, if they fudge a bit, it's serious business to most retailers and all libraries.

I'm not certain why this is so crucial in the media/book distribution business, but it's a long-held custom and p/d are deadly serious about it.

Violations mean the publishers and distributors "moratorium" you; essentially dropping violators to the bottom of the queue; leaving violators to obtain stock from what is left--very bad news when dealing with bestsellers.
