Kodiak and the Whale Migration Festival in April....

Has anyone ever gone to the Whale Migration Festival in Kodiak? We were planning on trying to get down there this year for it, and we were wondering what there is to do, what is the best place to stay, things like that. Thanks ahead of time for any input!!

1. Kodiak...

I haven't been down there in about a few years.. Last time I went was for the Kodiak Island Crab Festival.

I stayed at the Best Western Inn and I liked it just fine. Close to town, and it's right across from the harbor.

There's a place called the Buskin River Inn, but it's out by the airport and is too far from the town of Kodiak if you ask me..

If you're going for sure, you should probably make reservations fairly soon.. From what I recall, Kodiak doesn't really have a heckuva lotta motels..

I've heard of the Crab Festival too, I think they are only like a week or two apart. I checked out the Best Western, and I think we will stay there.

I hope we see some whales!! Either way, it'll get us out of the house for a long weekend (that I desperately need!! LOL)
