2. $130 to attend?
That seems a bit steep, at least for me. My kid wanted me to go with him because he's hearing that some group from ASU is planning to disrupt the conference by showing up in "Star Wars Bar Scene" costumes. I wouldn't screw with the Chandler cops.

3. $99 early-bird registration through Friday.
Call 602-714-1174 to see if you can work off some of the fee. Local publicity
will probably be ongoing in the two weeks before.

Star Wars Costumes sounds like fun. Maybe someone will bring the Flying Spaghetti Monster too?

4. PHX Newtimes has ripped this "conference"
Big time. Charles Goyette denies he ever committed to speak and now says he won't even attend. Eric D. Williams seems to have been outed as a nut case, I wonder if Faris will still be there?

6. Jeff Faris
Edited on Fri Feb-09-07 11:41 PM by ben_meyers
He's the director of programing and a producer for Nova-M AAPHX radio in Phoenix. He is listed as the co-moderator for this show. On his weekend show "Truth to Power Hour" Jeff said that Nova-M will be broadcasting live from the conference on Saturday the 24th. I think He's a real believer. BTW, Williams may be "off he case" but he is the registered owner of the website, and still is managing the program.

8. Fire Districts in County Islands
Note this "Grass Roots Effort" is NOT part of any City Annexation or Governmental Agency.

As of September 19, 2007; "HB 2780's Non-contiguous, Un-incorporated County Island Fire Districts:will begin the long & arduous process of establishing possible districts for qualifying properties.... If successful, this will allow districts to be formed that meet the qualifications set by HB 2780. It will require a minimum approval of qualifying parties along with other terms & conditions for each of the Fire Districts

Please contact INFO@F-E-D-U-P.com or your Board of Supervisors for more information about upcoming public meetings & informative information about HB 2780 & the petitions that will be circulated after 9/19/2007.

If you live in one of these Non-contiguous, Un-incorporated County Islands; that DO NOT HAVE, AND HAVE NOT BEEN OFFERED Fire or Emergency services by a public or private agency, I suggest you visit www.F-E-D-U-P.com to review HB-2780.

If you would like to stay updated on this very important matter, be sure to contact me at INFO@F-E-D-U-P.com. Remember you can also contact the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors Office for more information about the issues of HB 2780's Fire Districts.

Progress is a wonderful thing & our great State of Arizona is proof of that, but it does take time, patience & understanding by all involved.

Gilbert Mobile Home Fire:

This could be you!

Crews Watch Home Burn, Family Forced To Pay

MESA, Ariz. -- A Gilbert family whose home burned to the ground while town firefighters refused to douse the flames will get a bill from the private fire company that eventually responded.

The double-wide mobile home in an unincorporated county area on South Higley Road was destroyed Wednesday night.

Gilbert firefighters responded to the blaze and made sure no life was at risk, but did not fight the fire under a town policy because it is in an unincorporated area.

Instead, the Rural/Metro Fire Department went to the fire as a courtesy, but they came too late to save the home.

Rural/Metro officials said they'll bill the family about $10,000 dollars anyway.

The county island fire protection issue has simmered for more than a year.

Rural/Metro ended subscription service, and county island residents voted against joining Gilbert to get protection. So for now, Gilbert officials say they will not get fire protection.
