46th: Brandt "within striking distance" of dumping Rohrabacher
In this election cycle, the DLC led Democratic party have upwards of 70 congressional seats "orphaned". In others words, NO MONEY or RESOURCES unless you are one of "their" target seat candidates...... This is the same short sighted thinking that has caused the Party to be in the minority, when the majority of the country think more like we do than those who are currently governing. The 46th District is one of these "orphaned and abandoned" seats.

A couple of election cycles back, not a soul believed that Loretta Sanchez could beat B 1 Bob Dornan. She is now a rising star in national politics. Her district borders ours. The people are related and share the same neighborhoods. Our early polling has shown that Orange County demographics are rapidly changing and so are the voting patterns. ( 2/3's of the district is in OC )

We can win this folks !! Do you realize how sweet it would be to add another DEMOCRATIC congressman "good ol Republican OC"?

Howard Dean has encouraged us to " change the Democratic Party from within." and this is a perfect opportunity to stop " business as usual " and rally around progressive Democrats .

The only fight we can't win, is the one we don't suit up for !

I'm attaching a direct link to the web site so that people can go straight there and contribute or volunteer online. Give us a chance to present good positive polling results to those in the Democratic party that control the purse strings.

Please give us some of your time and financial support.

From a letter by Jason Brown , a DFA/DUer who is running Jim Brandt's campaign. If you live there, help out. If you don't, send some love and money.

1. We have the same problem in the 49th C.D.
where Mike Byron is running against Darrell Issa (hero of the recall). No money for Mike either and one would think the DNC would be doing back flips to get Issa out.

I'm working (volunteering) at Mike's campaign headquarters and you are absolutely right with this statement:

"The only fight we can't win, is the one we don't suit up for !"

Positive thoughts going towards Brandt's campaign and all who are working for him.

2. This is the two-party duopoly at work.
The DNC does not contest the Repubs designated seats, and they
don't (theoretically) contest in the DNCs. Dumping Dana would be
a big win not just for Democrats, but for DFA and for real elections.

Mary Bono, dumb as dirt. The demographics have chanced here a lot in this dist which includes Moreno Valley/ Coachella and Indio. The fastest growing cities in the state. The DNC left a perfectly good anti war Dem out to dry w/o a cent, last time. Last year, Palm Springs elected a Dem mayor and city council. this dist was noted as one of the top 2 for an upset. Thank god dr Dean is helping to oust the evil Bonnie Garcia in the overlapping 80th AD.
