we now know where the governor stands: against the people
Edited on Sat Sep-18-04 07:12 PM by theoceansnerves
vetoed:

·bill that would require schools to divulge nutritional information of foods they serve
·bill to raise the minimum wage from $6.75 to $7.25, in two years to $7.75
·bill to put the burden on wal-mart and other megastores when opening stores that would compete with union run grocery stores
·bill to change focus of forest management to preservation rather than timber profits, this bill also would have also banned old growth logging in the jackson demonstation state forest in mendocino county
·bill to require schools to inform parents of irradiated food served to kids
·bill that would recommend a task force to promote walking and cycling
·bill requiring government and school buildings built after 2007 to be more energy efficient
·bill that would basically "rat out" manufacturers not complying with plastic bag recycling rules
·bill making it harder to give random drug tests at schools

edit: spelling

5. But
It wasn't just the elite that put him into office, the people did it too. Yes, it wasn't all of the people, just the brain dead fools who actually bought his BS, but it was still enough to get him into office, and Gray Davis out.

So those that wanted him elected, are at fault for any ill effects caused by his veto of these bills, unless the legislature has the votes to overturn his vote?
