Riordan resigns as education secretary
Gee action hero, this one didn't turn out so well did it.
The former Los Angeles mayor, a longtime friend of Schwarzenegger’s, was supposed to help the Republican governor craft a comprehensive education overhaul. Riordan, who turns 75 on Sunday, came under attack last July for a bizarre remark he made to a 6-year-old girl, telling the youngster at a Santa Barbara library reading program that her name, Isis, "means stupid, dirty girl."

why do we need a secretary of eduction--we have a state superintendent
