Anyone else in the Springs get polled last night?
Last night around 9:30 I got a call from a polling company asking about Fawcett and Lamborn. I didn't catch the name of the company. Some of the questions were the standard "Are you a registered voter?" "Do you plan on voting in the midterms?" etc. Then came the "Tell me if you have a favorable, unfavorable or unfamiliar with these candidates." They only asked about Fawcett and Lamborn. "Who will you be voting for? Fawcett, Lamborn or haven't decided?" Answer Fawcett. "Can you tell me some reasons that you will be voting for Fawcett?" Answer: Fawcett actually served his country honorably and Lamborn hasn't served a day in the military. Lamborn is too extreme, too far right. (She giggled at that one)

Then came the questions "for statistical purposes":
Does a candidates position as "pro-choice or "Pro-life" effect your decision?
In the last election the candidates were John Kerry and GWB, for whom did you vote?
Do you consider yourself a conservative, moderate or liberal? (she probably thought she'd found the only liberal in the Springs!)

Not sure who they were polling for, but, I didn't feel "push polled". She did giggle at some of my answers about Lamborn and why I feel he's an ass. Anyone else get polled?

1. No info re polling, but my kids and I are visiting the Springs now.
We were at Colorado College today. The Dem. candidate for governor was due to appear at 3. His campus supporters told me he has a great chance to win. That is great news. I also talked to GLBT folks who explained the bizarre ballot initiatives competing to give and take equal rights. Now, when I go home to Illinois I will watch these races with a bit more personal interest. Greetings to all Colorado people!

2. Enjoy your time in the Springs
The fundies, for all their annoyance, don't bite. Are you looking at applying to CC? It's got a pretty good reputation. Oh, and Ritter is the next governor. Have a good time!
