Districts 12 and 5 debate...Putnam, Siemer, Hagenmaier...Aug. 24..
We must get Putnam out of there, and Brown-Waite as well.

Hagenmaier doesn't show up much when Jeff does. He and Jeff Siemer are Dem primary opponents. Jeff's campaign is strictly grassroots, fueled by our DFA and DEC folks, some of them. Here is a note about the debate. Don't know about District 5. Is that Brown-Waite? Rick Penberthy is in the Dem primary in her district, endorsed by the Lakeland Ledger. Jeff Siemer was also endorsed by the Lakeland Ledger.

Hello Everyone,

As most of you know, on Tuesday, August 24th, the League of Women Voters is having a forum for Congressional candidates from District 12 and 5. Jeff and his primary opponent and Adam Putnam and his primary opponent will all be there. We would like to show our support for Jeff in a big way. I have Jeff's campaign tee shirts for all who would like to attend. I feel that this is important because I know from experience that Adam Putnam will have his "people" there and I think it would be really neat if we could outnumber them. Please email me or call me if you can attend so that I can get a shirt to you. 298-0454.

The forum will be at 7:00 PM at the Polk County Administration building in Bartow. To get there, take 98 to Boulevard and turn right. It is in the county commission chambers on the first floor.

Please help us to show Jeff that we support him and to make our presence known.

My district. Do you happen to have any more info on the Dist. 5 candidates or know if there's someplace online I could go to get it? I've been checking the newspaper, but there's been zip about any of them in the Tampa Trib and their "Pasco Tribune" section. I haven't seen any ads by any of them on the local stations either. I'm registered to vote, not a registered Dem though, but I'm trying to find out more about who the Democrats are putting up in the primary and what their positions are. Penberthy did come knocking door to door in my neighborhood about a month ago -- which I thought was a nice touch -- but we weren't at home so I couldn't ask him questions. All he left was a business card, too, and I really think he would have been better served by printing up a flyer or something stating his positions and leaving that instead.

Yes, Brown-Waite must go. She is horrible as a Rep. All she's done is rubberstamp Bush's and the neocons' bills and sponsored the anti-gay marriage amendment and has done nothing for this district. Whoever her opponent is, they should point this out.
