More Repub dirty tricks?
I went over to www.pdamerica.org a couple weeks ago and ordered some ImpeachMINTs to be sent to our Senators & my Congressman (Linder) -- $15 well spent.

Well, it appears that they were less than thrilled to receive them. I got an envelope in yesterday's mail. It was rubber-stamped "Returned for 39 Additional postage. When remailing, cross out this notice or paste stamps over it." However, the envelope had one of the new 41-cent forever stamps on it, and the total weight was less than 1/2 ounce (so no additional postage should be needed).

To complete the illusion of a letter returned for insufficient postage, the return address was my home address (but my last name was misspelled, which it wasn't when I placed the order online), and the recipient was one "Jonny Isakson" (note the misspelling).

Inside were the three mint wrappers (two still had mints in them) and one of the PDAmerica cards telling the recipient to visit the PDA website -- again the card had my last name misspelled.

I'm wondering how they pulled this off -- assuming that some staffer prepared the fake envelope with my return address, how did they get the postal service to return the envelope to me, and couldn't that be considered an attempt to defraud the USPS (i.e. faking an insufficient postage stamp)?

1. I don't see a link at pdamerica.org to any such merchandise
Are they still selling these products? Was it someone else who was advertising at that site?

2. I got the original link off DU back in April...
and placed the order on April 21. You can still buy bags of 100 mints on their website by clicking on the "Buy Impeachment products here" link at the top of the screen.

3. Oh, now I see...
I did a quick search on the page for "mints", but I see the products are pretty prominently displayed. My bad.

4. The story continues...
Got another fake insufficient postage letter in Tuesday's mail, this time from John Linder. This one had three mints in it.
