3. Yes. A better option might be Rockbottom Brewery

*beating head on wall* I don't know why I had posted the Roundhouse...I was thinking Rockbottom.

It's just off the Warrenville Road exit and would be a lot easier for everyone to get to and locate. :)

Welcome to DU!

4. Thanks, Rockbottom sounds better
I am always SOOOO glad to hear there are non Republicans around here.

I know so few Dems around here (less than 10) because there really are so few.

5. Former Naperville Resident
I have been living in San Diego, CA for many years, but I did the major portion of my growing up in Naperville, Illinois. I spent my later childhood, youth and early college in Naperville during a period which included the entire 1960's. I graduated from Naperville Central High School.

I remember that a lot of people in Naperville were strongly for Goldwater in 1964. (But there were also a number of people, including my parents, who were strongly against him.)

I have been back to Naperville a few times in recent years for school reunions. The town has certainly grown and changed from when I lived there.

6. hi there
I live less than 2 miles from Central. Been in Naperville over 20 now. There are VERY FEW Democrats here. STILL!

I know two sisters, 70 and 65year old ladies, who were born here and still live in Naperville. They are both Democrats. SHe and her sister basically own the real estate in downtown area Naperville although they never flash their bucks around. Both went to Main Street school when it was the only school in Naperville.

Central still gets extremely high scholastic ratings, usually the highest of the 4 Naperville high schools.

Yes it has changed so much even in the time I have been here.

Okay, now I will say it: I love San Diego!

7. Barb, there's more than I thought
I talked with the Naperville Democrats a few days ago. He told me they've grown by leaps and bounds in the last year or so. Did my heart good to hear that! I think hubby and I are going to join up with them ($25 per year I think). They meet once a month at Nichols Library.

You're very close to me and also WaltStarr. I'll give you a PM tomorrow with the Naperville info. :)

8. HI!
I happened to bump into Anderson, the Dem candidate for this US House district, a few weeks ago when she was in downtown Naperville and she mentioned to me that about 45% of DuPage is Dem. I said huh? Like show me!!! Doesn't seem like that to me at all and I wonder where that number comes from. You know, if it was Blago's election, and 45% of DuPage voted Dem, well that was a reaction to the Ryan scandals but a vote once for Dems doesn't mean you're a Dem. I am on the DUPage Dem list. Does the DuPage airport thing bother you (to me it is just there for rich GOP types with private planes to go down to the islands every weekend in winter to keep their tans up). Oh well.

9. keyes voter reguistration
by the way I know this is NOT the right place to put (but I don't remmeber whre that topic is anymore) it but I emailed the Cook County (Orr) voter regis. and this is the email response I got yesterday.
---------------
"Anyone setting up residency can register to vote here in the state of
Illinois as long as it is 30 days or more before the election.

Thanks for your inquiry. If we can be of further service to you please
let us know."

>>> > 08/12/04 12:52 PM >>>
I read in the Chicago Sun Times yesterday (8/11/04) that Alan Keyes,
the Republican candidate for US Senate, REGISTERED to vote yesterday.
Since he supposedly established residence in Calumet City this week, I
am wondering if he will have to wait, like everyone else, for 30 DAYS
before he is officially registered to vote. Thanks
--------------------

It's as if they are not paying attention to the manner in which the IL law is written.

10. I think the way it's working is this:
he can register to vote if he WILL HAVE LIVED 30 days or more at the address he is registering from by election day. I got my son registered to vote in the primary even though he wasn't 18 by the close of registration this way. He WAS 18 by primary day and thus was entitled to vote.

BTW, here's an interesting page regarding Democratic Trend in DuPage county...http://www.home.earthlink.net/%7Emiltondems/numbers.html

11. thnak you for that graph, voting info
that link is very interesting, showing the Democrats growing consistently. Wow. I would not have expected that trend in that area as I guess I see Wheaton as more conservative than Naperville.
