2. GOP leader to Vosicky: Concede

GOP leader to Vosicky: Concede

By Michael Wamble
Daily Herald Staff Writer
Posted Tuesday, December 19, 2006

State Sen. Kirk Dillard called Monday for Democrat Joe Vosicky to “stop goofing around,” end his recount efforts in the race for the 46th House District seat and concede to his Republican opponent.

“The shenanigans here just muck up the waters and waste taxpayers’ dollars,” Dillard said.
Dillard, a Hinsdale Republican and chairman of the DuPage County Republican Party, said a recount already conducted by the DuPage Election Commission changed only one vote in that race’s tally.

*snip*

Vosicky’s supporters, Dillard said, must stop “phony allegations of election fraud.”
Vosicky’s attorney, Richard K. Means, said his client has not made any such allegations.

“I think it is a figment of (Dillard’s) imagination,” Means said.

His continuing case, Means said, is based on “a lot of irregularities. The best irregularity here is with the election board.”

3. wow, an election fraud case before a DEM body!
that's a nice change. (not that i really think mike madigan is an honest broker. i think we can count on him to "steal" one for our side.)
:wtf: is with these people, tho? here's a hint to any actual reporters out there- when they won't show you basic election materials without a court order, that is not a real election. see? little clues like that, people.

Recount on the money, House candidate cries foul

December 20, 2006
By Paige Winfield staff writer
Naperville Sun

After bi-partisan teams conducted two recounts of the race for Illinois House District 46 last week, the numbers still haven't changed: Democrat Joe Vosicky trails his Republican opponent Dennis Reboletti by 299 votes.

*snip*

"That doesn't mean we agree with what the election board found," Means said. "The candidates were running neck-and-neck all evening and then all of a sudden overnight he was down by 299 votes. We want to know what changed."

Means sent the commission a request for additional documentation Friday, and two more requests Monday. Even though the commission legally has seven business days to respond to any requests for documents, Means said the Election Commission is "stonewalling."

*snip*

During his 11 years as legal counsel for the Election Commission, Bond said he has seen candidates pursue recounts, but not with the "innuendos" Vosicky's campaign has suggested. He said Vosicky's attorneys had full access to all of the election commission data records in the 21 precincts that were recounted.

*snip*

But Means said the election commission appears to be hiding public records they would normally be allowed to see in a discovery recount. He plans to appeal the election results to the Illinois House of Representatives by the required date of Dec. 28 if the election commission does not "realize they need to make their records public."

5. guess they have it nailed down pretty tight there-
"The record shows that over the years DuPage County has the best record of any large county in Illinois when it comes to conducting clean election," Dillard said, stating that there has never been a confirmed allegation of election fraud in the 167-year history of DuPage County.

i hope joe holds on. that is what we need. fight, joe, fight.
were you there for the count?

6. update-
this trib article from today.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/west/chi-0612220240dec22,1,2632784.story?coll=chi-newslocalwest-hed&ctrack=1&cset=true

i am so happy that vosicky and jennings(fl-13) are pushing this issue. that is what we really have needed, a candidate who is not afraid to draw a line in the sand. prove it, goddamn it, prove that you pigs really won. damn.
my sources tell me that a big loop law firm is considering joining vosicky's fight. early voting info is what they are after, and the dupage board of elections is following in the grand republican tradition of stonewalling. imho, early voting should be outlawed. there is no citizen participation/oversight of this crap.
