They're tearing down the Berwyn car kabob
:cry: to make room for a Walgreens. :grr:

I lived near Cermak Plaza for a while in the 80s, and I loved taking visitors to see the kabob and the junk sculpture. It's been years since I've been there, but they already had a Walgreens, so wtf?

1. The sculptor was interviewed today on 848 (NPR)
He is hoping to be able to restore the cars and have it re-erected in another location. That is a truly unique sculpture and a part of Chicago-area lore.
