This will have a negative effect on the lives of consumers in Illinois and on retail businesses, as this will make our sales tax rate the HIGHEST in the country.

and if anyone was going to stop it, is sure wouldn't be toady.
the good part of the is that it is a smaller increase than was sought, and cook county hospital, oops, i mean monument to himself stroger hospital, will be put under the control of an outside trustee. hopefully it will not go to the "heckova job hospital corp, inc.".
it's a done deal, tho.
