1. everything about blaggo is weird, weird, weird.
guess some people feel sorry for the ass. or his family. but jesus.
it would be great if the guy got the psychiatric help he so obviously needs. it would be a real teaching moment for a lot of people.

4. lol, my grandma LOVES Blago. I have absolutely no idea why.

I think she said she liked his wife or something and that she felt sorry for him because he had kids.

2. The contrast.
Blago is bloviating on WLS, while Quinn is in Iraq visiting the troops in 125 degree heat.

I didn't realize that Quinn had been in the habit of attending funerals for Illinois troops killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Apparently, he's been doing it for some time.

6. Sen. Durbin and then-Sen. Obama both quietly attended many funerals...
Unlike many of the Republicans, they did so quietly, and with a minimum of fuss. I was quite surprised late last winter when I attended the funeral of a local soldier who was killed by and IED and saw Sen. Durbin quietly slip into the school gym and then later pay his respects to the widow and family at the cemetery.
