Robin Williams and Stevie Wonder raise funds for Obama
CHICAGO -- Friday night, Grammy award winner Stevie Wonder and comedian Robin Williams, two outspoken critics of President Bush, will be in Chicago to raise $500 per person for Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Barack Obama.
Pop and soul singer Stevie Wonder, who campaigned on behalf of Al Gore in 2000, will be joined by Robin Williams, who has been an outspoken critic of President Bush.
Earlier this year at the Berlin Film Festival before a group of international journalists and film critics, Williams criticized Bush's decision to rid Iraq of Saddam Hussein and questioned the search for WMDs.
"Bush is complaining about a lack of intelligence, which seems sort of redundant," Williams, a native of Chicago, said. "They say they don't know if Iraq had any WMDs - well, all they have to do is ask
Cheney for the receipts."
