In the Illinois 14th District primary, take a Republican ballot and vote
against Ethan Hastert, the son of Dennis Hastert.

Ask for a Republican primary ballot, try not to puke, and vote for Il. State Senator Randy Hultgren(R-Wheaton).

Keep this flake-off-the-old-blob Ethan Hastert off the ballot in the general election. We do not want another Hastert in Congress. Ethan Hastert worked on Cheney's staff. Reason enough to kick him into the ditch.

2. Thanks for the suggestion
I am going to do it, I cant stand the thought of another Hastert representing me. When I see the Ethan Hastert signs it makes my skin crawl.

3. I'm in Elgin, and haven't seen any Hastert signs yet.
This town is rapidly turning blue. A couple of blocks north of me is a neighborhood filled with aged, Cadillac driving Republicans, so I'm sure I'll see some of his signs there.

4. I am in Oswego
Kendall County is still solid Republican, although it seems to be changing a bit. The signs are everywhere, it is revolting

But thanks for the suggestion I hadn't thought of that, my girlfriend and I are both planning for taking the Republican ballot and voting against Hastert.

5. Yeah, it's not like our Dem. Rep, Bill Foster has anyone to fight in the primary.

13. Doesn't matter.
Hastert is just burning in to the brains of everyone driving past those signs. And it isn't like Foster is doing much to keep his image up down in our section of 14. Maybe up in Geneva, not really sure - he's like the anti-politician. You never see or hear from him.

12. Oswego here as well...
Nice to see another one here. And I agree, the Hastert signs were revolting. I was out at 6AM putting up Hoffman & Quinn signs at a couple polling locations, and kind of felt like puking in the snow. The signs I put up were also the only Democratic signs here - not sure in other districts/precincts though.

7. I just voted today
and took the Republican ballot and voted for Randy Hultgren. I also voted for Andy Martin, I think it is pretty safe to say that anti-Semitic conspiracy nuts don't get elected to the Senate. It felt really weird voting Republican, I have never done it in my life, I actually was a bit embarrassed to ask for the Republican ballot. But I took one for the team.

8. Stratigic voteing is a very bad idea. It harms your local Democratic party
I know a lot of people do it, but please please please pull a Democratic ballot. A there are many important races besides for congress. Expectations are built by how many people vote in primaries. Your precinct and you state committee people are apportioned votes based on how many poelpe in thier district voted in the Democratic primary.

Please do not take a republican ballot if you are indeed a Democrat.

10. Exactly ... there's an important Governor's and Senate primary among Democrats
I don't care who you vote for (I personally, am going to vote for Pat Quinn and David Hoffman), but you ignore your own primaries at your peril. It's the only way to try to move the party in the direction you want it.

11. This is a good idea
I live in the city but I think it's a good idea. Unfortunately there is a chance the pukes will win the seat back. We don't want it to be Crown Prince Hastert JR. BARFx10 :puke:
