General Assembly Provides Boost To Solar Power Industry
we don't have many positive things on this board lately with the bp disaster and all. I read this and it made me feel a little better.:

Illinois' solar power industry received a boost today from the Illinois General Assembly. This afternoon, the Illinois House approved a measure (HB 6202, Amendment 3) speeding up the date by which utilities will have to procure solar power under the state's Renewable Energy Standard. The Illinois Environmental Council, which made the bill one of their top priorities this year, thinks the legislation will create 5,000 green energy jobs and will position Illinois as a regional leader in solar production. Over email, Jack Darin of the Illinois Sierra Club calls this "definitely a big victory."

Having already cleared the Senate, the legislation now moves to Gov. Pat Quinn's desk.
