I just did voter survey over the phone.

I am sure it must have been the Democratic party of Indiana cause they talked about Daniels and his ALCOA scandal.

I said I was voting for John Kerry for president.
I was voting Bayh for senator. I know Bayh is not the greatest but better than the GOP candidate.
I said I am voting for Kernan.

I have seen more Kerry signs in Indiana than I did Gore signs in last election. That speaks volumes! I know Indiana will still go Bush but if the Bush victory is narrower in Indiana than it was last time Bush is toast! If Indiana is closer being such a right wing nut job state than Kerry will win!

2. a couple of weeks ago was canvassed (door to door)
was asked about the congressional election (Baron Hill).

was asked about the gubinatorial election (Kernan).

was asked about the presidential election (Kerry).

that was it.

I noted, when it was over, that they hadn't asked about the senatorial election. The canvasser chuckled and said that he had noticed it as well, but that it wasn't on the list of questions.

Was left to surmise that either it was due to confidence about that election (the republicans have put up a not-at-all-known candidate), or that there were concerns that raising Bayh into the questions (they were targeting democrats and independents) that they might supress enthusiasm for the closer races - those races for which it is paramount to get out the vote.

3. Typically
Each party only canvasses its own voters, at least, that's what we do here in the 8th district.
